Abstract

Providing balanced nutrition education is one of the efforts to overcome the emergence of nutritional problems in adolescents. The success of education cannot be separated from the media used. Video was chosen as an educational media because it provides clearer information, repeatable, and suitable for all age groups from children to adults. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of nutrition videos on knowledge and attitudes about balanced nutrition among students of 4 Senior High School Serang. This study used a quasi-experiment design with a one group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 54 students from grade X at 4 Senior High School Serang who were taken by random sampling. The educational intervention was held in one session with two screenings of an 11 minutes video. The instruments of this study were pretest and posttest questionnaires. This study used the Wilcoxon Test with a significant level of ɑ=0.05. The results indicate an increase in knowledge and attitudes before and after being given education with video. Respondent’s knowledge increased by 27.8%, while positive attitudes towards nutrition improved by 57.4%. Bivariate test results of the effect of nutrition video on knowledge and attitudes about balanced nutrition of students at 4 Senior High School Serang with p-values of 0.000 and 0.000 (<0.05), respectively. There is an influence of nutrition video on knowledge and attitudes of 4 Senior High School Serang Students.

Additional Information: Pemberian edukasi gizi seimbang merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi timbulnya masalah gizi pada remaja. Keberhasilan edukasi tidak terlepas dari media yang digunakan. Video dipilih sebagai media edukasi karena dapat memberikan informasi yang lebih jelas, dapat diulang, dan cocok untuk semua kelompok usia dari anak-anak hingga dewasa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh video gizi terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap tentang gizi seimbang pada siswa SMAN 4 Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian quasi experiment design dengan pendekatan one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel merupakan siswa kelas X sebanyak 54 responden di SMAN 4 Kota Serang yang diambil secara random sampling. Pemberian edukasi dilaksanakan dalam satu kali pertemuan dengan dua kali pemutaran video berdurasi 11 menit. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah kuesioner pretest dan posttest. Uji yang digunakan adalah uji Wilcoxon dengan tingkat signifikan ɑ=0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap sebelum dan setelah diberikan edukasi dengan media video. Pengetahuan responden mengalami peningkatan sebesar 27,8%, sementara sikap positif terhadap gizi meningkat sebesar 57,4%. Hasil uji bivariat pengaruh video gizi terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap tentang gizi seimbang siswa SMAN 4 Kota Serang dengan niai p-value masing-masing 0,000 dan 0,000 (<0,05). Terdapat pengaruh pemberian edukasi gizi dengan media video terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap siswa SMAN 4 Kota Serang.
