Abstract

Corn (Zea mays subsp. mays L.) is one of the most important carbohydrateproducing food crops in the world, apart from wheat and rice. However, the productivity of sweet corn in Indonesia has decreased from 2018 to 2021. This is caused by nutrient deficiencies, pests, and diseases, as well as drought stress. To overcome these problems, they need to be overcome by using mycorrhiza and spacing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mycorrhizal applications and variations in spacing, as well as their interactions, on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays subsp. mays L.). The experimental design used in this study was a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors, namely the mycorrhizal dose as factor 1, consisting of 3 levels: M1: 0 gram/plant, M2: 15 gram/plant, and M3: 30 gram/plant. Factor 2 was the variation in plant spacing, consisting of 3 levels: J1: 70 cm × 20 cm, J2: 70 cm × 30 cm, and J3: 70 cm × 40 cm. The results showed that mycorrhizal treatment with a dose of 30 grams per plant (M3) showed the best results on the growth of the number of leaves of the plant, as much as 9.97 leaves. Spacing showed the best results for the growth and yield of corn plants. Especially on plant height (159.16cm) and cob weight (311.05 gram). There was an interaction between mycorrhiza at a dose of 15 grams per plant (M2) and a spacing of 70 cm × 20 cm (J1) on yield. The average interaction of these treatments resulted in an average yield of 9.000 kg/ha.

Additional Information: Tanaman jagung (Zea mays L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman pangan pengahasil karbohidrat yang terpenting di dunia, selain gandum dan juga padi. Namun produktivitas jagung manis di Indonesia mengalami penurunan dari tahun 2018-2021. Hal ini disebabkan oleh oleh kekurangan unsur hara, hama dan penyakit, serta cekaman kekeringan. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut perlu diatasi dengan menggunakan mikoriza dan pengaturan jarak tanam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi mikoriza dan variasi jarak tanam, serta interaksinya terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi jagung manis (Zea mays subsp. mays L.). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari 2 faktor, yaitu dosis mikoriza sebagai faktor 1, terdiri dari 3 taraf, M1: 0 gram/tanaman, M2: 15 gram/tanaman, dan M3: 30 gram/tanaman. Faktor 2 adalah variasi jarak tanam, terdiri dari 3 taraf, J1: 70 cm × 20 cm, J2: 70 cm × 30 cm, dan J3: 70 cm × 40 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan mikoriza dengan dosis 30 gram per tanaman (M3) memberikan hasil terbaik pada pertumbuhan jumlah daun tanaman sebanyak 9,97 helai daun. Jarak tanam memberikan hasil terbaik pada pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung. Terutama pada tinggi tanaman (159,16), dan bobot tongkol berkelobot (311, 05). Terdapat interaksi antara mikoriza dosis 15 gram per tanaman (M2) dan jarak tanam 70 cm × 20 cm (J1) terhadap daya hasil. Rata-rata interaksi perlakuan tersebut menghasilkan rata-rata daya hasil tanaman yaitu 9000 kg/ha.
