Abstract
This research aims to describe how the green school concept is implemented as a strategy to strengthen character education that cares about the environment. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects in this research are the school stakeholders of SMA Negeri 1 Mancak which include the deputy head of the school for curriculum, the head of the Adiwiyata team of SMA Negeri 1 Mancak and teachers of Civics subjects as well as the activities of the academic community of SMA Negeri 1 Mancak. . Data collection techniques in this research include interviews, observation and documentation. The research results illustrate that the application of the green school concept as a strategy to strengthen character education that cares about the environment is carried out through various programs, namely green houses, waste banks, school gardens and living pharmacies, including four indicators of green school implementation, namely policy, curriculum, participation and management of facilities and infrastructure. Based on the results of observations and interviews, SMA Negeri 1 Mancak, in carrying out the green school program, always involves students with the aim of ensuring that the character of caring for the environment grows in each student. Based on the results of observations and interviews, it was found that there were challenges for SMA Negeri 1 Mancak in implementing the green school concept During Covid-19, it is the biggest challenge for schools to continue developing green school programs, but with the implementation of green schools, students' environmentally caring character continues to develop in a better direction.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana penerapan konsep green school sebagai strategi penguatan pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif pendekatan deskripstif, subjek penelitiannya adalah stakeholder Sekolah yang meliputi wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, ketua tim adiwiyata SMA Negeri 1 Mancak, Guru mata pelajaran PPKn serta kegiatan civitas akademika SMA Negeri 1 Mancak. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa penerapan konsep green school sebagai strategi penguatan pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan dilakukan melalui berbagai program yaitu green house, bank sampah, taman sekolah dan apotek hidup meliputi empat indikator pelaksanaan green school yaitu kebijakan, kurikulum, partisipasi dan pengelolaan sarana dan prasarana. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara, SMA Negeri 1 Mancak dalam menjalankan program green school ini senantiasa melibatkan peserta didik yang tujuannya agar karakter peduli lingkungan tumbuh dalam diri setiap siswa, menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi SMA Negeri 1 Mancak dalam menjalankan konsep green school di masa covid19 berkaitan dengan kesulitan koordinasai sesama pengurus adiwiyata serta perlu adanya pembentukan pembiasaan bagi seluruh siswa untuk menjalankan program-program yang telah disusun namun dengan adanya penerapan green school ini karakter peduli lingkungan pada siswa senantiasa berkembang ke arah yang lebih baik. | |||||||||
