Abstract
The current ecological crisis caused by individuals that not understand the importance of protecting the environment, including the school environment. Understanding how to protect the environment has been used as a parameter of environmental literacy, and to increase it, the Green School Program is needed as a means of developing and strengthening the character of caring for the environment because it has a commitment and systematically develops activities that internalize environmental values into all school activities. This research aims to examine the optimization of the Green School program as a means of strengthening the environmentally caring character of students at SDN Tanjung Barat 04 Pagi related to the process of implementing the Green School program, challenges in implementing the program, as well as the environmental care skills of students at SDN Tanjung Barat 04 Pagi Jakarta through qualitative approach, descriptive method using interview, observation and documentation data collection techniques. The research was conducted from March to November 2023. The results of the research found that the Green School implementation process was carried out in a planned manner. This departs from the motto and objectives of the educational unit which are relevant to the supporting activity program. Activities are carried out comprehensively in intracurricular, extracurricular and co-curricular activities that involve school stakeholders and collaborate with the community and related agencies. The challenges found were related to infrastructure, the existence of students who were inconsistent in carrying out the program and the need to revitalize the school's vision and mission based on environmentally friendly aspects. However, in general, it can be concluded that students behave in a clean and healthy way and care about the environment, this is due to an increase in students' insight. So students are not only limited to knowing but also understanding the essence of preserving the environment, and this is reflected in their daily behavior and the condition of the school environment that is clean, green and beautiful.

Additional Information: | Krisis ekologi dewasa ini disebabkan oleh ketidakpahaman individu terhadap pentingnya menjaga lingkungan, termasuk lingkungan sekolah. Pemahaman akan menjaga lingkungan telah dijadikan sebagai parameter literasi lingkungan, dan untuk meningkatkanya dibutuhkan Program Green School sebagai sarana dalam membina dan menguatkan karakter peduli lingkungan karena memiliki komitmen serta secara sistematis mengembangkan kegiatan yang menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai lingkungan ke dalam seluruh aktivitas sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji optimalisasi program Green School sebagai sarana dalam penguatan karakter peduli lingkungan peserta didik di SDN Tanjung Barat 04 Pagi terkait proses pelaksanaan program Green School, tantangan dalam melaksanakan program, serta keterampilan peduli lingkungan peserta didik di SDN Tanjung Barat 04 Pagi Jakarta melalui pendekatan kualitatif metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret hingga November 2023. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa pada proses pelaksanaan Green School dilaksanakan secara terencana. Hal tersebut berasar dari motto dan tujuan satuan pendidikan yang relevan dengan program kegiatan yang mendukung. Aktivitas kegiatan dilakukan secara menyeluruh pada kegiatan intrakurikuler, ekstrakurikuler, dan kokurikuler yang mengikutsertakan stakeholder sekolah serta bekerjasama dengan masyarakat dan instansi terkait. Adapun tantangan yang ditemukan yaitu terkait sarana prasarana, adanya peserta didik yang inkonsisten dalam menjalankan program serta dibutuhkannya revitalisasi visi misi sekolah yang berlandaskan aspek ramah lingkungan. Namun demikian, dapat disimpulkan secara umum peserta didik berperilaku hidup bersih dan sehat serta peduli lingkungan, hal itu dikarenakan adanya peningkatan dalam wawasan lingkungan peserta didik. Jadipeserta didik tidak hanya sebatas mengetahui tetapi juga memahami hakikat menjaga kelestarian lingkunga, dan itu tercermin pada perilaku keseharian dan keadaan lingkungan sekolah yang bersih, hijau, dan asri. | |||||||||
