Abstract

This research seeks to raise the problem-based learning model for improving critical thinking skills, collaborative, communicative, and creative thinking of Social Science XI class students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Serang. The problem of this research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills, collaborative, communicative and creative thinking of students in learning sociology, as evidenced by the implementation of learning with the lecture method which makes students less active in learning. This study aims to analyze the effect of the problem-based learning model on improving students' critical thinking skills, collaborative, communicative, and critical thinking. The method used in this research is quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The sample used in this study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The instruments used in this study were pretest-posttest and questionnaire. The data analysis technique used normality test, homogeneity test, gain test, and t test. The results of data analysis showed that there was a difference between students' 4C skills before being given learning with a problem-based learning model and after being given learning with a problem-based learning model. The effectiveness of the increase is evidenced by the experimental class gain value of 56.7% which is categorized as quite effective. Learning using problem-based learning models can be used as an alternative learning model in learning sociology to improve students' critical thinking, collaborative, communicative, and creative thinking skills

Additional Information: Penelitian ini berupaya mengangkat model problem based learningl bagi peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaboratif, komunikatif, dan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas XI Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Serang. Adapun masalah peneliitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaboratif, komunikatif dan berpikir kreatif peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sosiologi, yang dibuktikan dengan masih dilaksanakannya pembelajaran dengan metode ceramah yang menjadikan peserta didik kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran. Penelitianl ini bertujun untuk menganalisis pengaruh model problem based learning terhadapl peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaboratif, komunikatif, dan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitiian ini yakni kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas yakni kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji gain, dan uji t. Hasil analisis data bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaboratif, komunikatif, berpikir kreatif siswa sebelum diberi pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning dan setelah diberikan pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning. Efektivitas peningkatan dibuktikan dari nilai gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 56,7% berkategori cukup efektif. Pembelajaran menggunakan model problem based learning dapat dijadikan model pembelajaran alternatif dalam pembelajaran sosiologi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaboratif, komunikatif, dan berpikir kreatif peserta didik.
