Abstract

This research aimed to find out if there is a significant effect of flashcard toward students’ noun vocabulary mastery at the fourth grade of SDN Cilegon 11. To achieve that aim, this research used quasi-experimental design. This study involved 40 students as the sample consisting 20 students in the experiment class and 20 students in the control class. For data collection techniques, pre-test was given to both classes at the first meeting and then the post-test at the last meeting. The result revealed that the students at the experimental class gained significantly higher scores than control class. This was evidenced by the results of Paired Sample T-Test where the sig-2 tailed value was 0.00, while the alpha (a) was 0.05 showing that the sig.Value is lower than 0.05 (0.00<0.05). This demonstrates that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that there is any significant effect flashcard toward students’ noun vocabulary mastery at fourth grade of SDN Cilegon 11.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari flashcard terhadap penguasaan kosakata benda siswa di kelas empat SDN Cilegon 11. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen semu. Penelitian ini melibatkan 40 siswa sebagai sampel yang terdiri dari 20 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 20 siswa pada kelas kontrol. Untuk teknik pengumpulan data, pre-test diberikan kepada kedua kelas pada pertemuan pertama dan kemudian post-test pada pertemuan terakhir. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa siswa pada kelas eksperimen memperoleh nilai yang jauh lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil Paired Sample T-Test dimana nilai sig-2 tailed sebesar 0,00, sedangkan alpha (a) sebesar 0,05 menunjukkan nilai sig.Value lebih rendah dari 0,05 (0,00<0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif diterima. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan flashcard terhadap penguasaan kosakata nomina siswa kelas IV SDN Cilegon 11.
