Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of wordwall as learning media towards students' vocabulary mastery, especially Signal Words. This research used quantitative research with quasi-experimental design and the data were gathered through pre-test and post-test. The subject of the research were 89 students of the eleventh grade students at SMKN 3 Kota Tangerang Selatan in class 11 AN 1, which became controlled class, and 11 AN 2, which became experimental class. The results of data analysis showed that there was a difference between the average pre-test score for the experimental class (69.25) and the controlled class (64.81). Meanwhile, the average post-test results showed that the controlled class obtained (74.62) and the experimental class obtained (84.37). This research calculates the effectiveness of the wordwall used in the experimental class using the Independent Sample T-test of IBM SPSS version 26 software. This shows the influence of using wordwall on Sig. the 2-tailed value is 0.000 < 0.050. The alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, while the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Therefore, there is an effect on students' vocabulary mastery after using wordwall.

Additional Information: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas wordwall sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa, khususnya Signal Words. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen dan pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMKN 3 Kota Tangerang Selatan yang berjumlah 89 siswa pada kelas 11 AN 1 yang menjadi kelas kontrol, dan 11 AN 2 yang menjadi kelas eksperimen. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan rata-rata nilai pre-test kelas eksperimen (69,25) dan kelas kontrol (64,81). Sedangkan rata-rata hasil post-tes menunjukkan kelas kontrol memperoleh (74,62) dan kelas eksperimen memperoleh (84,37). Penelitian ini menghitung keefektifan wordwall yang digunakan pada kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan Independent Sample T-test software IBM SPSS versi 26. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh penggunaan wordwall terhadap Sig. nilai 2-tailed nya adalah 0,000 < 0,050. Hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima, sedangkan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Oleh karena itu, terdapat pengaruh terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa setelah menggunakan wordwall.
