Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of dual-role mothers to the development of student discipline character at SMA Negeri 3 Cilegon City. The subjects in this study were science class XI students totalling 169 students. The sample collection technique in this study used probability random sampling using the slovin formula so that the sample used was 120 students. The data collection method used in this research is quantitative method. The data collection tool used a Likert scale of 30 question items on the variable of mothers playing multiple roles with a reliability value of 0.925 and 30 items on the student discipline character variable with a reliability value of 0.860. The data obtained were analysed using product moment analysis technique. The results of empirical data research on the contribution of dual-role mothers to student discipline indicate: (1) in general, the average parent who has a dual role often carries out their duties or 5 days a week. (2) in general, the average student of class I IPA SMA N 3 Cilegon is always disciplined or carries out discipline 5 days a week. and (3) the relationship between the contribution of dual-role mothers to student discipline shows an rxy value of 0.587 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.01), which meansthat there is a significant relationship between dual-role mothers and student discipline character. The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between mothers who have dual roles and student disciplin

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kontribusi ibu berperan ganda terhadap perkembangan karakter disiplin siswa di SMA Negeri 3 Kota Cilegon. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA yang berjumlah 169 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan probability random sampling dengan menggunakan rumus slovin sehingga sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 120 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan skala likert terhadap 30 item pertanyaan pada variabel ibu berperan ganda dengan nilai reliabilitas 0.925 dan 30 item pada variabel karakter disiplin siswa dengan nilai reliabilitas 0.860. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis product moment. Hasil penelitian data empirik mengenai kontribusi ibu berperan ganda terhadap kedisiplinan siswa menujukan: (1) secara umum rata-rata ibu yang memiliki peran ganda sering melaksanakan tugasnya atau 5 hari dalam seminggu. (2) secara umum rata-rata siswa kelas XI IPA SMA N 3 Kota Cilegon selalu disiplin atau melaksanakan kedisiplinan 5 hari dalam satu minggu. dan (3) hubungan kontribusi ibu berperan ganda terhadap kedisiplinan siswa menunjukan nilai rxy sebesar 0,587 dengan p = 0,000 (p < 0,01), yang memberikan arti adanya hubungan signifikan antara ibu berperan ganda dengan karakter disiplin siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara ibu yang memiliki peran ganda dengan kedisiplinan siswa.
