Abstract

Character education that cares about the environment needs to be instilled for the survival of humans, animals and plants in the future. The school environment has a strategic role in developing environmentally caring character. This research aims to describe the process of implementing environmental utilization in Adiwiyata schools, describe supporting and inhibiting factors in environmental utilization in Adiwiyata schools, and analyze the implications of strengthening environmentally caring character through utilizing the Adiwiyata school environment. This research was carried out at SDN Kosambi 1 Tangerang Regency. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this research used interview, observation and documentation techniques. The findings show that 1) The process of implementing environmental utilization in Adiwiyata schools includes 3 important things, namely planning, implementation and evaluation of learning. The planning stage focuses on developing learning objectives, conditioning the learning environment, determining the learning model, criteria for selecting the learning environment, as well as evaluation standards for assessing learning activities. In the implementation stage, learning is implemented using an environment-based learning model and the evaluation stage is carried out thoroughly on the attitudes, knowledge and skills of students. 2) Supporting factors include the potential of the school environment, while obstacles involve possible risks. 3) the use of the school environment has a positive and significant impact on the character of students, especially the character of caring for the environment

Additional Information: Pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan perlu ditanamkan demi keberlangsungan hidup manusia, hewan, dan tumbuhan di masa yang akan datang. Lingkungan sekolah memiliki peran yang strategis untuk mengembangkan karakter peduli lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan pemanfaatan lingkungan di sekolah adiwiyata, mendeskripsikan faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pemanfaatan lingkungan di sekolah adiwiyata, dan mendesrkipsikan implikasi penguatan karakter peduli lingkungan melalui pemanfaatan lingkungan sekolah adiwiyata. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN Kosambi 1 Kabupaten Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil temuan menujukan bahwa 1) Proses pelaksanaan pemanfaatan lingkungan di sekolah adiwiyata meliputi 3 hal penting yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Tahap perencanaan berfokus pada pengembangan tujuan pembelajaran, pengkondisian lingkungan pembelajaran, penentuan model pembelajaran, kriteria pemilihan lingkungan belajar, serta standar evaluasi penilaian kegiatan pembelajaran. Tahap pelaksanaan, pembelajaran diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan dan tahap evaluasi dilaksanakan secara menyeluruh terhadap sikap, pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta didik. 2) Faktor pendukung mencakup potensi lingkungan sekolah, sedangkan hambatan melibatkan risiko yang mungkin terjadi. 3) pemanfaatan lingkungan sekolah memberikan dampak positif dan signifikan pada karakter peserta didik, khususnya karakter peduli lingkungan
