Abstract

Driving safety is a problem that requires serious attention because it can affect the number of driving accidents every year. This research aims to determine the level of alertness, driving characteristics, identify performance through stimulus detection, mental workload in online motorcycle taxi drivers, determine the effect of age and education on the level of alertness and mental workload as well as propose recommendations for improvements to increase the level of alertness and reduce mental workload. . The level of alertness and mental workload are influenced by age and education. Based on age level, the level of alertness in late teens was 66.36%, early adults 52.67%, late adults 48.90% and early elderly 34.09%, while at junior high school education level it was 53.01% and SMA/SMK 49.93%. Based on the characteristics of drivers at age level, it was found that late adolescents were included in the over confident category with an error value of 15.57%, early adults were included in the under confident category with an error value of -4.08%, late adults were included in the over confident category with an error value of 13.99% and the elderly Initially it was included in the over confident category with an error value of 47.63%, while based on education level it was found that the junior high school level was included in the over confident category with an error value of 18.49% and at the SMA/SMK level it was included in the over confident category with an error value of 10.82%. Based on the ability to detect stimuli, the age classifications are respectively late adolescence, early adulthood, late adulthood and early elderly, while the educational levels are SMA/SMK and SMP respectively. Based on mental workload at the age level of late teens 22, early adults 48, late adults 49 and elderly 70, while at junior high school education level it is 65 and SMA/SMK is 46. The results of the influence test show that there is an influence on the level of alertness based on age level but There is no effect of education level on the level of alertness. Meanwhile, regarding mental workload, age and education influence mental workload. The differences obtained in the level of alertness and mental workload are influenced by the cognitive level of each individual in forming driving behavior and the individual's understanding of information processing, speed and working memory. Proposed recommendations for improvement that can be given are providing training and development programs for drivers, creating policy limits regarding age and education, creating a routine vehicle service program, creating a regular medical checkup program for drivers and creating standard operating procedures regarding personal protective equipment while driving.

Additional Information: Keselamatan berkendara merupakan salah satu masalah yang memerlukan perhatian serius karena dapat mempengaruhi angka kecelakaan berkendara setiap tahunnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kewaspadaan, karakteristik berkendara, mengidentifikasi kinerja melalui deteksi stimulus,beban kerja mental pada pengemudi ojek online, mengetahui pengaruh usia dan pendidikan terhadap tingkat kewaspadaan dan beban kerja mental serta usulan rekomendasi perbaikan untuk meningkatkan tingkat kewaspadaan dan menurunkan beban kerja mental. Tingkat kewaspadaan dan beban kerja mental dipengaruhi oleh usia dan pendidikan. Berdasarkan tingkat usia tingkat kewaspadaan pada remaja remaja akhir 66.36%, dewasa awal 52.67%, dewasa akhir 48.90% dan lansia awal 34.09%, sedangkan pada tingkat pendidikan SMP 53.01% dan SMA/SMK 49.93%. Berdasarkan karakteristik pengemudi pada tingkat usia diperoleh bahwa pada remaja akhir termasuk kedalam kategori over confident dengan nilai error 15.57%, dewasa awal termasuk kedalam kategori under confident dengan nilai error -4.08%, dewasa akhir termasuk kedalam kategori over confident dengan nilai error 13.99% dan lansia awal termasuk kedalam kategori over confident dengan nilai error 47.63%, sedangkan berdasarkan tingkat pendidikan diperoleh bahwa tingkat SMP termasuk kedalam kategori over confident dengan nilai error 18.49% dan pada tingkat SMA/SMK termasuk kedalam kategori over confident dengan nilai error 10.82%. Berdasarkan kemampuan mendeteksi stimulus pada klasifikasi usia berturut turut yaitu remaja akhir, dewasa awal, dewasa akhir dan lansia awal sedangkan pada tingkat pendidikan secara berturut turut yaitu SMA/SMK dan SMP. Berdasarkan beban kerja mental pada tingkat usia remaja akhir 22, dewasa awal 48, dewasa akhir 49 dan lansia awal 70, sedangkan pada tingkat pendidikan SMP sebesar 65 dan SMA/SMK sebesar 46. Hasil uji pengaruh menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh tingkat kewaspadaan berdasarkan tingkat usia tetapi tidak ada pengaruh tingkat pendidikan terhadap tingkat kewaspadaan. Sedangkan pada beban kerja mental, usia dan pendidikan berpengaruh terhadap beban kerja mental. Perbedaan yang didapatkan dari tingkat kewaspadaan dan beban kerja mental dipengaruhi oleh tingkat kognitif masing-masing individu dalam mebentuk prilaku berkendara dan pemahaman individu dalam pengolahan informasi, kecepatan serta memori kerja. Usulan rekomendasi perbaikan yang dapat diberikan yaitu memberikan program pelatihan dan pengembangan bagi para driver, membuat batasan kebijakan terkait usia dan pendidikan, membuat program service rutin kendaraan, membuat program medical checkup driver secara berkala dan membuat standar operasional prosedur mengenai alat pelindung diri saat mengemudi.
