Abstract

The number of traffic accidents at Cilegon City (January - November, 2023) reached 116 cases, with a dominance of two-wheeled vehicles. This figure is significant, considering the resulting casualties and losses, including fatalities, financial losses, and the cost of treating victims. Therefore, traffic accidents involving motorcycles should be a collective concern. These incidents are influenced by various factors, such as risky situations, driving disturbances, and driver behavior. In this research, three methods will be employed: the Susceptibility to Driver Distraction Questionnaire (SDDQ), Driver Behaviour Questionnaire (DBQ), and Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS). The data processing results indicate that the most dominant risky situation among motorcycle riders in Cilegon is SCE16 (Common traffic violations committed by both respondents and other drivers), specifically the non-use of helmets while driving, accounting for 68.50% of occurrences. The most dominant deviation in driving behavior is ordinary violations, with a score of 2.80. The most dominant vulnerability to distraction is Attitudes and Beliefs about Voluntary Distraction (Perceived social norms), with a value of 3.42. Based on these findings, the researcher proposes a preventive approach using the 3E framework (education, engineering, and enforcement). This includes enhancing education at various levels, implementing traffic engineering, and strengthening legal and traffic regulations

Additional Information: Angka kecelakaan lalu lintas di Kota Cilegon per November tahun 2023 berjumlah 116 kasus dengan dominasi kendaraan roda dua. Jumlah tersebut bukanlah angka yang sedikit karena jumlah korban dan kerugian yang ditimbulkan mulai dari korban meninggal dunia, kerugian biaya, dan biaya pengobatan korban, maka kecelakaan lalu lintas pada sepeda motor haruslah menjadi perhatian bersama. Kecelakaan terjadi oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya adalah situasi berisiko, gangguan berkendara dan perilaku pengendara. Pada penelitian ini akan digunakan 3 metode yaitu Susceptibility to Driver Distraction Questionnaire (SDDQ), Driver Behaviour Questionnaire (DBQ) dan Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS). Hasil dari pengolahan data menunjukan bahwa situasi berisiko yang paling dominan pada pengendara sepeda motor di Kota Cilegon adalah SCE16 (Pelanggaran lalu lintas yang umum dilakukan baik oleh responden maupun pengendara lain) yaitu tidak menggunakan helm saat berkendara dengan proporsi kejadian 68.50%. Penyimpangan perilaku berkendara yang paling dominan adalah ordinary violations dengan skor 2.80. Kerentanan terhadap gangguan distraksi yang paling dominan adalah Attitudes and Beliefs about Voluntary Distraction (Norma sosial yang dirasakan) dengan nilai 3.42. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka peneliti membuat usulan preventif dengan pendekatan 3E (education, engineering, dan enforcement) yaitu dengan peningkatan edukasi pada berbagai jenjang, rekayasa engineering lalu lintas, serta perkuatan hukum dan aturan lalu lintas
