Abstract

Avocado is a much-loved fruit with high nutritional content. However, its current production has declined due to excessive and continuous use of chemical fertilizers. Biofertilizers can be applied to reduce the reliance on chemical fertilizers, promoting soil health and fertility by providing essential macro and micronutrients for better plant growth. This study aims to determine the optimal dosage and method for the combined application of biofertilizer, palm olein diethanolamide biosurfactant (DEA), and neem extract on avocado seedlings. The experimental design used is a factorial randomized complete block design with two factors. The first factor is the biofertilizer dosage, consisting of four levels: 5 mL/L, 10 mL/L, 15 mL/L, and 20 mL/L, each combined with 5% DEA and 35% neem extract. The second factor is the application method, with three levels: application at the planting medium, foliar spray, and combined application on both the planting medium and the plant. Results indicate that a 10 mL/L biofertilizer dosage, 5% DEA, and 35% neem extract show the best effects on plant height, leaf chlorophyll levels, stem diameter, and the number of avocado leaves. The application method of applying to the planting medium yields the best results for plant height, leaf count, and leaf chlorophyll levels. There is an interaction between treatments regarding plant height at 10 MSPT and leaf count at 8 MSPT. In conclusion, biofertilizer application by pouring is recommended as an alternative to chemical fertilizers for promoting healthy avocado seedling growth.

Additional Information: Alpukat merupakan buah yang banyak digemari dan memiliki kandungan gizi yang tinggi, namun produksi alpukat saat ini telah mengalami penurunan yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan pupuk kimia secara berlebihan dan terus menerus. Pupuk hayati dapat diaplikasikan untuk mengurangi penggunaan pupuk kimia yang dapat berdampak pada kesehatan dan kesuburan tanah dengan menyediakan unsur-unsur hara makro dan mikro sehingga pertumbuhan tanaman dapat lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis dan metode terbaik dalam aplikasi kombinasi pupuk hayati, biosurfaktan dietanolamida olein kelapa sawit, dan ekstrak mimba terhadap pertumbuhan bibit alpukat. Rancangan percobaan pada penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak kelompok faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis pupuk hayati (B) dan faktor kedua yaitu metode aplikasi (M). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis 10 mL/L biofertilizer, 5% DEA, dan 35% ekstrak mimba memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap tinggi tanaman, tingkat klorofil daun, diameter batang, dan jumlah daun alpukat. Metode aplikasi dengan cara dikocor pada media tanam memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, dan tingkat klorofil daun. Terdapat interaksi antarperlakuan terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 10 MSPT dan jumlah daun umur 8 MSPT. Pemberian pupuk hayati dengan cara dikocor mampu memberikan pertumbuhan bibit alpukat yang baik dan dianjurkan sebagai alternatif sebagai pengganti pupuk anorganik.
