Abstract
Reaction rate is one of the chemical materials that students do not understand because it generally involves more complex mathematics and qualitative explanations for rate equations and variables that affect reaction rates. The purpose of this study is to analyze the application of the Cooperative Team Assisted Individualization model with the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual) approach to increasing students' understanding of the reaction rate material. This study used a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The understanding of students' concepts is measured through understanding test questions that have been validated using CVR (0.99), correlate bivariate and tested for reliability using Cronbach-alpha (0.649). The data were analyzed using the paired sample t-test which obtained a significance value of 0.000 (sig <0.05), which means that there is a significant difference in students' understanding before and after the implementation of the cooperative learning model team assisted individualization with the SAVI approach on the reaction rate.
