Abstract

Police public relations plays an important role in agencies, especially in government institutions which have the task of serving the public. One of the tasks of public relations is to improve the company's image. This research aims to find out how public relations carries out fact finding, planning, communication and evaluation in improving the image of the police. This research uses descriptive qualitative research, with a post-positivist paradigm. By using a four step public relations strategy, namely fact finding, planning, communication, evaluation. The results of this research are that Serang City Police Public Relations carried out ((1) fact finding, namely by analyzing the situation and monitoring the news or social media regarding what is happening. (2) Public relations planning for the Serang City Police by determining the targets, namely: internal and external, after determining the targets then determining the strategy. In this case, Serang City Police Public Relations follows the policy that has been made by the National Police Chief, namely the launch of the Promoter (Professional, Modern & Trusted) Grand Strategy Polri program for 2016-2025, after which Serang City Police Public Relations determines the media and becomes media relations. (3) Communicating in this implementation is by carrying out what has been planned at the planning stage through activities, namely public relations for the Serang City Police, implementation of direct communication by the Serang City Police in the form of seminars, socialization using persuasive and educative messages and conveying persuasive messages. and educational, apart from directly, also through photo or video content posted on social media. (4) Evaluating includes, among other things, evaluating the activities that have been carried out by the Serang Police Public Relations itself at the end of each activity and also holding anev meetings which are held every six months.

Additional Information: Humas kepolisian berperan penting dalam lembaga instansi khususnya pada lembaga pemerintahan yang memiliki tugas untuk melayani masyarakat satu tugas humas yakni meningkatkan citra perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana humas melakukan pencarian fakta, perencanaan, komunikasi dan evaluasi dalam meningkatkan citra kepolisian. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deksriptif, dengan paradigrma post-positivitik. Dengan menggunakan strategi four step public relations yaitu fact finding, planning, communication, evaluation. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah humas Polresta Serang Kota dalam melakukan (1) fact finding yaitu dengan melakukan analisis situasi dan melakukan pemantauan berita atau media sosial mengenai apa yang sedang terjadi. (2) Planning humas Polresta Serang Kota dengan cara menentukan sasarannya yakni: internal dan eksternal, setelah menentukan sasarannya kemudian menentukan startegi. Dalam hal ini, humas polresta serang kota mengikuti kebijakan yang telah dibuat oleh Kapolri yaitu peluncuran program Promoter (Profesional, Modern & Terpercaya) Grand Strategi Polri tahun 2016-2025, setelah itu humas Polresta serang menentukan media dan menjalin media relation. (3) Communicating pada pelaksanan ini yaitu dengan melaksanakan apa yang sudah direncanakan pada tahap perencanaan melalui kegiatan-kegiatan hal ini humas polresta serang kota , Implementasi komunikasi langsung oleh Polresta Kota Serang dalam bentuk seminar, sosialisasi dengan menggunakan penyampaian pesan persuasive dan bersifat edukatif dan dalam menyampaikan pesan persuasive dan edukatif selain secara langsung juga melalui konten foto atau video yang diposting di media sosial. (4) Evaluating antara lain mengevaluasi kegiatan yang sudah dijalankan Humas Polresta Serang sendiri melakukan pada setiap selesai mengadakan kegiatan dan juag diadakan rapat anev yang dilakukan pada setiap enam bulan.
