Abstract

This research aims to develop media in the form of self-help book technique based symbolic modeling. The book was developed with the aim of helping students improve their career planning, especially students at SMAN 1 Cilegon. Apart from that, the book consists of 10 chapters, each chapter can provide information related to how to improve career planning, what are the causes of career planning obstacles, how to recognize the direction of interests and talents, inspirational figures who can be used as rolemodel, etc. Methods use model development lAnalysis, lDesign, lDevelopment, lImplementation, land lEvaluation l (ADDIE). Thisl researchl usesl quantitativel andl qualitativel datal obtainedl froml research subjects who are media and materials experts, linguists, practitioner experts or guidance and counseling teachers, as well as class XI students. The results of this research prove that self-help books or self-help book got a percentage score of 84.28%, which means it is good and suitable for use without the need for revision. Conclusions from research into the development of media self-help book This is suitable to be used and utilized, especially by students, in improving their career planning. Future researchers are expected to be able to develop self-help book technique based symbolic modeling more broadly.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media berupa lbuku bantuan ldiri atau self-help book berbasis teknik symbolic modeling. Buku tersebut dikembangkan dengan tujuan untuk membantu pserta didik dalam meningkatkan perencanaan kariernya khususnya pada peserta didik SMAN 1 Cilegon. Selain itu, buku tersebut terdiri dari 10 chapter yang dimana masing-masing chapter dapat memberikan informasi terkait bagaimana meningkatkan perencanaan karier, apa saja penyebab terhambatnya perencanaan karier, cara mengenali arah minat dan bakat, tokoh-tokoh inspiratif yang bisa dijadikan rolemodel, dll. Metode yang digunakan melalui tahapan penelitian yang menggunakanl pengembangan model Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE). Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis datal kuantitatif dan kualitatif yang didapatkan dari subjek penelitian ahli media dan materi, ahli bahasa, ahli praktisi atau guru bimbingan dan konseling, serta peserta didik kelasl XI. Hasil Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa buku bantuan diri atau self-help book mendapatkan nilai presentase sebesar 84,28% yang artinya baik dan layak untuk digunakan tanpa perlu adanya revisi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian pengembangan media buku bantuan diri atau self-help book ini layak untuk digunakan dan dimanfaatkan khususnya peserta didik dalam meningkatkan perencanaan kariernya. Peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan dapat mengembangkan buku bantuan diri self-help book berbasis teknik symbolic modeling secara lebih luas.
