Abstract

Road safety is an effort to overcome accidents that occur on roads caused by human factors, vehicles, and road environmental factors. Based on existing data, road equipment in Lebak Regency, such as signs, markings, and Public Road Lighting, experience deficiencies that can potentially result in traffic accidents. This research aims to determine the factors that cause traffic accidents based on road geometric, pavement, and road complement aspects and provide recommendations for handling road safety. This study used the Equivalent Accident Number method to determine accident-prone locations. The research results show that the factors causing accidents in terms of the road environment: (1) aspects of the geometric condition of the road (lack of overtaking visibility and high differences in elevation of the road shoulder to the edge of the pavement); (2) aspects of the condition of the road pavement (good pavement at high speeds); and (3) aspects of the condition of the road accessories (no the availability of incline signs, descent signs, no overtaking signs, road markings that are no longer visible, the condition of public road lighting that is no longer functioning, and the absence of School Safe Zones. Recommendations for handling road safety that can be given are painting the marking lines. Intermittent to continuous, adding pavement on the road shoulder until the elevation difference reaches <5 cm, making noise tape, installing signs, repainting road markings, replacing public street lighting that is no longer functioning and making ZoSS in front of SDN 3 Cijoro Pasir, Lebak Regency.

Additional Information: Keselamatan jalan adalah upaya penanggulangan kecelakaan yang terjadi di jalan raya yang disebabkan oleh faktor manusia, kendaraan, dan juga faktor lingkungan jalan. Berdasarkan data yang ada, perlengkapan jalan di Kabupaten Lebak seperti rambu, marka, lampu penerangan jalan mengalami defisiensi yang berpotensi mengakibatkan kecelakaan lalu lintas dari segi faktor lingkungan jalan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor – faktor penyebab kecelakaan lalu lintas berdasarkan pada aspek geometrik jalan, aspek perkerasan jalan dan aspek pelengkap jalan serta memberikan rekomendasi penanganan keselamatan jalan. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Equivalent Accident Number (EAN) untuk mengetahui lokasi rawan kecelakaan (blackspot) pada ruas jalan raya Rangkasbitung-Cikande. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor penyebab kecelakaan dari segi lingkungan jalan; (1) aspek kondisi geometrik jalan (kurangnya jarak pandang mendahului dan tingginya beda elevasi bahu jalan terhadap tepi perkerasan), (2) aspek kondisi perkerasan jalan (perkerasan jalan yang baik dengan kecepatan tinggi), dan (3) aspek kondisi pelengkap jalan (tidak tersedianya rambu tanjakan, rambu turunan, rambu larangan mendahului, marka jalan yang sudah tidak terlihat, kondisi lampu penerangan jalan umum yang sudah tidak berfungsi, dan tidak tersedianya Zona Selamat Sekolah (ZoSS). Rekomendasi penanganan keselamatan jalan yang dapat diberikan adalah melakukan pengecatan garis marka putus-putus menjadi menerus, penambahan perkerasan pada bahu jalan hingga beda elevasi mencapai <5 cm, pembuatan pita penggaduh, pemasangan rambu batas kecepatan, rambu persimpangan, rambu tanjakan, rambu turunan, rambu larangan mendahului, rambu tikungan, pengecatan ulang pada marka jalan, penggantian lampu penerangan jalan umum yang sudah tidak berfungsi dan pembuatan ZoSS di depan SDN 3 Cijoro Pasir Kabupaten Lebak.
