Abstract

Students' learning interests in sociology subjects can vary, and some students may be less interested in the material, so an approach is needed that can meet individual student needs. This research aims to describe the role of teachers in implementing differentiated learning strategies in sociology subjects at SMA Negeri 2 Pandeglang to foster students' interest in learning in these subjects. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data sources in this research are primary data and secondary data with informants namely school principals, sociology teachers and students. Data was collected through observation, interviews and analysis of sociology learning documents. The research results show: (1) Application of differentiated learning strategies: Teachers use a variety of strategies, such as grouping students based on ability, varying learning resources, and project assignments that suit students' interests. (2) The teacher's role as a facilitator: The teacher helps students identify their interests, provides guidance, and provides challenges appropriate to each student's ability level. (3) Impact: Differentiated learning makes students more involved in the learning process because they feel the subject matter is relevant to their personal interests and experiences, which in turn increases interest in learning in sociology subjects. The conclusion of this research is that the teacher's role is very important in implementing differentiated learning to increase students' interest in learning in sociology subjects at SMA Negeri 2 Pandeglang. Teachers need to act as facilitators who understand students' needs and interests to create an inclusive and interesting learning environment. This research also recommends that schools provide support and training to teachers in developing skills in designing differentiated learning.

Additional Information: Minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sosiologi bisa bervariasi, dan beberapa siswa mungkin kurang tertarik pada materi tersebut, sehingga dibutuhkan pendekatan yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan individu siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru dalam menerapkan strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dalam mata pelajaran sosiologi di SMA Negeri 2 Pandeglang untuk menumbuhkan minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran tersebut. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Adapun sumber data pada penelitian ini berupa data primer dan data sekunder dengan informan yaitu kepala sekolah, guru sosiologi, dan peserta didik. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen pembelajaran sosiologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Penerapan strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi: Guru menggunakan beragam strategi, seperti pengelompokan siswa berdasarkan kemampuan, variasi sumber belajar, dan tugas proyek yang sesuai dengan minat siswa. (2) Peran guru sebagai fasilitator: Guru membantu siswa mengidentifikasi minat mereka, memberikan bimbingan, dan memberikan tantangan yang sesuai dengan tingkat kemampuan masing-masing siswa. (3) Dampaknya: Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi membuat siswa lebih terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran karena mereka merasa materi pelajaran relevan dengan minat dan pengalaman pribadi mereka, yang pada gilirannya meningkatkan minat belajar pada mata pelajaran sosiologi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa peran guru sangat penting dalam menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa di mata pelajaran sosiologi di SMA Negeri 2 Pandeglang. Guru perlu berperan sebagai fasilitator yang memahami kebutuhan dan minat siswa untuk menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang inklusif dan menarik. Penelitian ini juga merekomendasikan agar sekolah memberikan dukungan dan pelatihan kepada guru dalam mengembangkan keterampilan dalam merancang pembelajaran berdiferensiasi.
