Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of Twitter as a social media platform on the development of civic disposition among Generation Z. Utilizing a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, this research examines active Twitter users within Generation Z as its subjects, with Twitter itself as the object of analysis. The study population encompassed all Twitter users, and due to the unknown exact number of Twitter users, the sample collection for this research utilized a non-probability sampling technique known as purposive sampling. A total of 100 samples were obtained using the Lemeshow formula. Primary data was collected through questionnaires. In this research, a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms serves as the research instrument, and the Likert scale was used. The data analysis technique involves descriptive statistics to present the data, as well as inferential statistics with parametric statistics to to test the population through sample data. The classical assumption prerequisite tests, including the normality and linearity tests, data analysis is by simple linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing is by T (Partial) test. The data is normally distributed 0.200 > 0.05 and exhibits linearity 0.871 > 0.05. The results of the simple linear regression analysis equation obtained are Y = 56.589 + 0.601X. Furthermore, the final result there is an influence of Twitter social media on the formation of citizens' civic disposition among generation Z, in this case the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This can be seen from the results of the hypothesis testing obtained, namely when comparing the calculated t value with the t table value, it is obtained t count 6,930 > t table 1.984 and when comparing the significant value with a probability value of 0.05, a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 is obtained.

Additional Information:	Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media sosial twitter terhadap pembentukan civic disposition pada kalangan Generasi Z. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah pengguna aktif media sosial twitter pada kalangan Generasi Z dan objek penelitiannya adalah media sosial twitter. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh pengguna media sosial twitter yang tidak diketahui secara pasti jumlahnya dan pengumpulan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik non probability sampling yaitu dengan purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini dihitung menggunakan rumus lemeshow yaitu diperoleh sebanyak 100 sampel. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah data primer. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuesioner. Pada penelitian ini instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner dengan menggunakan bantuan google formulir untuk melakukan penyebaran kuesionernya dan skala yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan skala likert. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk menyajikan data dan statistik inferensial dengan jenis statistik parametris untuk menguji populasi melalui data sampel. Uji prasyarat asumsi klasik yang digunakan yaitu uji normalitas dan uji linearitas, analisis data dengan analisis regresi linear sederhana dan uji hipotesis dengan uji T (Parsial). Hasil yang didapatkan dari seluruh uji prasyarat yang telah dilakukan dinyatakan telah memenuhi asumsi masing-masing pengujian yaitu data berdistubusi normal sebesar 0,200 > 0,05 dan bersifat linear sebesar 0,871 > 0,05. Adapun hasil persamaan analisis regresi linear sederhana yang didapatkan yaitu Y= 56,589+0,601X. Selanjutnya hasil akhir yang didapatkan yaitu ada pengaruh media sosial twitter terhadap pembentukan civic disposition warganet pada kalangan generasi Z, dalam hal ini hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak sedangkan Hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil uji hipotesis yang didapatkan yaitu apabila membandingkan nilai t hitung dengan nilai t tabel diperoleh t hitung 6,930 > t tabel 1,984 dan apabila membandingkan nilai signifikan dengan nilai probabilitas 0,05 diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05.
