Abstract
Absorption of labor plays an important role in running the economic system. Absorption of labor is related to one another. This study aims to analyze the Growth Rate of the Industrial Sector, Foreign Investment, Domestic Investment, Minimum Wage, and Education in influencing Labor Absorption in 35 Municipal Districts of Central Java Province. This study uses the Dynamic Panel model with the SYS-GMM method for data on 35 City Districts of Central Java Province from 2017-2021. The results of this study indicate that partially the Growth Rate of the Industrial Sector has no significant positive effect on Labor Absorption. The results also show that Domestic Investment and Minimum Wage have a positive and significant effect on Absorption of Labor and Foreign Investment have a significant negative effect, but the results on the average length of school variable have a negative and not significant effect. A further implication of this situation is that the quality of graduates' competence is paid attention to so that graduates are better suited to the needs of the labor market and reduce the open unemployment rate.

| Additional Information: | Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja berperan penting dalam menjalankan system perekonomian. Penyerapan tenaga kerja memiliki keterkaitan satu sama lain. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Laju Pertumbuhan Sektor Industri, Penanaman Modal Asing, Penanaman Modal Dalam Negeri, Upah Minimum, serta Pendidikan dalam mempengaruhi Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja di 35 Kabupaten Kota Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan model Panel Dinamis dengan metode SYS-GMM untuk data 35 Kabupaten Kota Provinsi Jawa Tengah dari tahun 2017-2021. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial Laju Pertumbuhan Sektor Industri berpengaruh positif tidak signifikan terhadap Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja. Hasil juga menunjukkan bahwa Penanaman Modal Dalam Negeri dan Upah Minimum berpengaruh positif serta signifikan terhadap Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja serta Penanaman Modal Asing berpengaruh negatif signifikan namun hasil pada variabel Rata-rata Lama Sekolah berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan. Implikasi lebih lanjut pada situasi tersebut yaitu diperhatikannya kualitas kompetensi lulusan agar lulusan lebih dapat sesuai dengan kebutuhan pasar tenaga kerja serta mengurangi tingkat pengangguran terbuka. | |||||||||
