Abstract
The objective of research is determine the effect and reduction of emission levels on exhaust gases from diesel engine. The research was examined June to September 2023 at the Energy Conversion Laboratory, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The test are focused on Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and Hydrocarbons (HC) Emissions from diesel engine. The research was connected by with diesel engine with engine speed of 1200 rpm, 1600 rpm, and 2000 rpm repeated. The results of the research have a average decrease of 51.73% in the anode process and 22.73% in the cathode process as an average decrease from (CO) carbon monoxide gas levels, also 17% in the anode and 10.7% in the cathode as an average decrease from (CO2) carbon dioxide gas and an average decrease of 31.3% in the cathode process and 26.1% in the anode process against (HC) Hydrocarbon gas.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh serta pengurangan kadar emisi pada gas buang yang berasal dari pembakaran mesin diesel. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juni hingga bulan September 2023 di Laboratorium Konversi Energi Jurusan Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Pengujian pada emisi gas buang yaitu berfokus pada gas Karbomonoksida (CO), Karbondioksida (CO2), Hidrokarbon (HC). Gas buang yang berasal dari hasil pembakaran yang dapat berbahaya pada pernapasan manusia pada udara di lingkungan sekitar. Pengujian yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan mesin diesel yang dinyalakan dengan putaran mesin sebesar 1200 rpm, 1600 rpm dan 2000 rpm. Hasil yang didapat memiliki rata-rata penurunan sebesar 51,73% pada proses anoda dan 22,73% pada proses katoda sebagai rata-rata penurunan dari kadar gas (CO) karbonmonoksida, kemudian diikuti dengan 24.1% pada anoda dan 10,7% pada katoda sebagai rata-rata penurunan dari gas (CO2) karbondioksida dan rata-rata penurunan sebesar 31,3% pada proses katoda dan 26,1% pada proses anoda terhadap gas (HC) Hidrokarbon. | |||||||||
