Abstract
The increase in the number of vehicles is one of the causes of increasing air pollution. In addition, plastic waste is a type of inorganic waste that has long decomposed, plastic waste can be recycled into fuel oil. But each type of fuel has characteristic properties, this affects the exhaust emissions resulting from the combustion process. The purpose of this study is to determine the exhaust gas emissions (CO, HC, CO2 levels) produced from Dong Feng R175A type diesel engines with the fuel used is pure plastic fuel oil, pure dexlite, and a mixture of plastic oil fuel and dexlite with a mixture ratio of 30% plastic oil: 70% dexlite (PO30), 50% plastic oil: 50% dexlite (PO50) and 70% plastic oil: 30% dexlite (PO70). The result obtained is that carbon monoxide (CO) exhaust emissions increase with increasing rpm, hydrocarbon (HC) emissions decrease with increasing rpm. The use of plastic fuel oil produces the lowest carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

Additional Information: | Peningkatan jumlah kendaraan menjadi salah satu penyebab meningkatnya polusi udara. Disamping itu sampah plastik adalah jenis sampah anorganik yang lama terurai, sampah plastik dapat di daur ulang menjadi bahan bakar minyak. Namun setiap jenis bahan bakar memiliki sifat karakteristik, hal ini yang mempengaruhi emisi gas buang yang dihasilkan dari proses pembakaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui emisi gas buang (kadar CO, HC, CO2) yang dihasilkan dari mesin diesel jenis Dong Feng R175A dengan bahan bakar yang digunakan adalah bahan bakar minyak plastik murni, dexlite murni, serta campuran bahan bakar minyak plastik dan dexlite dengan rasio campuran 30% minyak plastik:70% dexlite (PO30), 50% minyak plastik:50% dexlite (PO50) dan 70% minyak plastik:30% dexlite (PO70). Hasil yang didapatkan adalah emisi gas buang karbon monoksida (CO) meningkat seiring bertambahnya rpm, emisi hidrokarbon (HC) menurun seiring bertambahnya rpm. Penggunaan bahan bakar minyak plastik mengahsilkan emisi karbon dioksida (CO2) paling rendah. | |||||||||
