Abstract
The use of composite boards for household furniture materials is increasing. Similarly, the use of a variety of trimmings on the composite board as household furniture one of which is melamine paper. The manufacture of composite boards and the use of different types of adhesives for melamine paper on composite boards has been done to determine the effect of the strength of melamine paper sticky on the composite board. Wheres the composite board material consists of several types of composite materials composition with 50% palm stem powder, 15% empty bunches of palm oil, 15% epoxy resin, and 20% PVAc "Fox" glue. The process of making composite board is done by casting the material using cold press single punch method with 50 bar pressure continuously for 2 hours. Melamine paper sticky strength test on composite board was performed by a tensile testing machine with a tensile velocity of 0.2 mm / sec. Based on the results of the test show sample with composition of 80 mesh filler powder and use of glue Dextone have the best sticky strength with value 0.762 N/mm² and has a density value 0.98 grams / cm³.

| Additional Information: | Penggunaan papan komposit untuk bahan pembuatan furniture rumah tangga terus meningkat. Begitu pula dengan banyaknya penggunaan jenis penghias pada papan komposit sebagai furniture rumah tangga salah satunya adalah kertas melamin. Pembuatan papan komposit dan penggunaan berbagai jenis perekat untuk kertas melamin pada papan komposit telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap kekuatan rekat kertas melamin pada papan komposit. Dimana material papan komposit terdiri dari beberapa jenis bahan penyusun dengan komposisi serbuk batang kelapa sawit 50%, serat tandan kosong kelapa sawit 15%, resin epoxy 15%, dan lem PVAc “Fox” 20%. Proses pembuatan papan komposit dilakukan dengan cara mencetak bahan-bahan menggunakan metode cold press single puch dengan tekanan 50 bar terus menerus selama 2 jam. Pengujian kuat rekat kertas melamin terhadap papan komposit dilakukan dengan mesin uji tarik dengan kecepatan tarik 0,2 mm/detik. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa papan komposit dengan variasi butiran filler 80 mesh dan penggunaan perekat lem Dextone menghasilkan nilai kuat rekat terbaik yaitu sebesar 0.762 N/mm² dan memiliki nilai densitas sebesar 0,98 gram/cm³. | |||||||||
