Abstract

Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is one of the most potential vegetable commodities and continues to experience an increase in demand and consumption. Shallots are one of the national vegetable commodities that have long been cultivated intensively by farmers. So far, shallot production has not been optimal and the method of cultivation is still conventional. The use of a hydroponic system knows no season and does not require large areas of land compared to open land. It is necessary to study the effect of the type of ab mix nutrition and the composition of the growing media on the growth and yield of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) in the wick hydroponic system. This research was conducted at the Pondok Indah Complex, Cilegon Block B, Cilegon, Banten. This research was conducted from February to May 2023. The design used in this study was a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors and 4 replications. The first factor is the type of AB Mix (N) nutrition which consists of 2 levels, namely: AB Mix 1 Nutrition (n1) and AB Mix 2 Nutrition (n2). The second factor was the composition of the different planting media (M) which consisted of 3 levels, namely: Charcoal Husk+Broom (m1), Charcoal Husk+Sand (m2), Charcoal Husk+Zeolit (m3). The treatment combination was repeated 4 times. The results showed that the type of nutrition AB Mix 1 had an effect on plant height at 35 Days After Planting (DAP), and the type of nutrition AB Mix 2 had an effect on plant height at 7 DAP, and AB Mix 2 nutrition had an effect on the number of plants. tubers aged 65 DAP. The composition of the growing medium of husk charcoal and zeolit increased plant height at 7, 14, 21, 28 and 35 DAP which had a better effect. There was no interaction between the levels of AB Mix nutrient types and the composition of the planting medium for all observed parameters.

Additional Information: Bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas sayuran yang sangat potensial dan terus menerus mengalami peningkatan permintaan dan konsumsi. Bawang merah termasuk salah satu komoditas sayuran nasional yang telah lama diusahakan petani secara intensif. Produksi bawang merah sampai saat ini memang belum optimal dan praktik budidayanya masih secara konvensional. Penggunaan sistem hidroponik tidak mengenal musim dan tidak memerlukan lahan yang luas dibandingkan dengan di lahan terbuka. Perlu dilakukan penelitian pengaruh jenis nutrisi ab mix dan komposisi media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) pada sistem hidroponik wick system. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Komplek Pondok Cilegon Indah Blok B, Cilegon, Banten. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai dengan Mei 2023. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dan 4 ulangan. Faktor pertama jenis nutrisi AB Mix (N) terdiri dari 2 taraf, yaitu: Nutrisi AB Mix 1 (n1) dan Nutrisi AB Mix 2 (n2). Faktor kedua komposisi media tanam yang berbeda (M) terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu: Arang sekam+Cocopeat (m1), Arang Sekam+Pasir (m2), Arang Sekam+Zeolit (m3). Kombinasi perlakuan tersebut di ulang 4 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis nutrisi AB Mix 1 berpengaruh pada tinggi tanaman di 35 HST, dan jenis nutrisi AB Mix 2 berpengaruh pada tinggi tanaman di 7 HST, dan nutrisi AB Mix 2 berpengaruh pada jumlah umbi umur 65 HST. Komposisi media tanam arang sekam dan zeolit meningkatkan tinggi tanaman pada 7, 14, 21, 28, dan 35 HST yang memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik. Tidak terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan tingkat jenis nutrisi AB Mix dan komposisi media tanam terhadap semua parameter yang diamati.
