Abstract

Avocado plants are a horticultural commodity favored by the Indonesian population due to their high nutritional content. The decline in avocado quality can be attributed to several factors, including the use of poor-quality seedlings, improper fertilizer dosages, and attacks by pests and diseases. One of the efforts that can be made is to improve the quality of seedlings by using biofertilizers with the right dosage and timing, which can help enhance soil fertility. The use of botanical pesticides can also reduce plant susceptibility to pests and diseases. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the dosage and timing of a combination of biofertilizer, palm olein diethanolamide (DEA) biosurfactant, and neem extract on the growth of avocado seedlings (Persea americana Mill.). The experimental design used in this study was a factorial randomized complete block design consisting of two factors: biofertilizer dosage and the timing of biofertilizer application. The first factor, biofertilizer dosage, consisted of three levels: 5 ml/L, 10 ml/L, and 15 ml/L, each combined with 5% DEA and 35% neem extract. The second factor, the timing of biofertilizer application, had four levels: once a week, once every two weeks, once every three weeks, and once every four weeks. The results of the study showed that a dosage of 10 ml/L of biofertilizer, 5% DEA, and 35% neem extract had the best effect on plant height, leaf count, stem diameter, and greenish leaves. Applying the biofertilizer once every two weeks yielded the best results in terms of plant height, leaf count, and greenish leaves. There was an interaction between the dosage 10 ml and timing of biofertilizer application once every two weeks on plant height, leaf count, and greenish leaves.

Additional Information: Tanaman alpukat merupakan komoditas hortikultura yang disukai oleh masyarakat Indonesia karena memiliki buah yang mengandung kadar gizi yang tinggi. Penurunan tersebut disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, diantaranya kualitas bibit yang digunakan kurang baik, pengunaan dosis pupuk yang tidak tepat, dan serangan hama dan penyakit. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah meningkatkan kualitas bibit dengan pengunaan pupuk hayati dengan dosis dan interval waktu pemberian yang tepat yang dapat membantu meningkatkan kesuburan tanah. Pengunaan pestisida nabati juga dapat mengurangi tanaman terserang hama dan penyakit.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis dan interval waktu pemberian kombinasi pupuk hayati, biosurfaktan dietanolamida olein sawit dan ekstrak mimba terhadap pertumbuhan bibit tanaman alpukat (Persea americana Mill.). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) factorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor, yaitu dosis pupuk hayati dan interval waktu pemberian pupuk hayati. faktor pertama yaitu dosis pupuk hayati (D) terdiri atas 3 taraf, diantaranya 5 ml/L (D1), 10 ml/L (D2), dan 15 ml/L (D3) dengan masing-masing taraf dikombinasikan dengan DEA 5% dan ekstrak mimba 35%. Sedangkan faktor kedua yaitu interval waktu pemberian pupuk hayati (W), terdiri dari 4 taraf diantaranya satu minggu sekali (W1), dua minggu sekali (W2), tiga minggu sekali (W3), dan empat minggu sekali (W4). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis 10ml/L pupuk hayati, 5% DEA dan 35% ekstrak mimba memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang dan kadar klorofil daun. Pada interval waktu pemberian pupuk hayati dengan dua minggu sekali memberikan hasil terbaik pada tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan kadar korofil daun. Adanya interaksi antara dosis dan interval waktu pemberian pupuk hayati terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan kadar klorofil daun.
