Abstract

Wind tunnel is a tool used to test or simulate a model with aerodynamic concepts. In this wind tunnel, a tool is needed to measure wind speed in order to determine the results of air flow in a model with known wind speed. A pitot tube is a flow measuring device for calculating the speed of a fluid flow. The purpose of this test is to find out the reading results and find out the location of the installation of the wind speed measuring instrument in the wind tunnel. The research was carried out by calibrating the measuring instrument then comparing the reading results from the testometer, then testing the installation location of the measuring instrument. For calibrating the pitot tube to measure speed in the wind tunnel, equation data was obtained on the Arduino using a regression line equation with a value of y = 0.006x – 0.005. From these tests, there were mixed results where there was the same data up to a difference in readings of 0.03 m/s. The test results showed that the appropriate place to place the measuring instrument was, where 25 cm was the most suitable place to place the measuring instrument.

Additional Information: Wind tunnel merupakan alat yang digunakan untuk menguji atau mensimulasi suatu model dengan konsep aerodinamika. Pada wind tunnel ini, diperlukan suatu alat untuk mengukur kecepatan angin agar dapat mengetahui hasil aliran udara pada suatu model dengan kecepatan angin yang dapat diketahui. Pitot tube (tabung pitot) merupakan suat alat pengukur aliran untuk menghitung kecepatan suatu aliran fluida. Tujuan dari pengujian ini ialah untuk mengetahui hasil pembacaan dan mengetahui letak dari pemasangan alat ukur kecepatan angin pada wind tunnel. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengkalibrasi alat ukur lalu membandingkan hasil pembacaan dari testometer, kemudian menguji letak pemasangan dari alat ukur tersebut. Pengkalibrasian pitot tube untuk mengukur kecepatan pada wind tunnel didapatkan data persamaan pada Arduino dengan menggunakan persamaan garis regresi dengan nilai y = 0,006x – 0,005. Dari pengujian tersebut, terdapat hasil yang beragam dimana terdapat data yang sama hingga perbedaan pembacaan sebesar 0,03 m/s. Pengujian didapatkan hasil tempat peletakkan alat ukur yang sesuai, dimana pada 25 cm adalah tempat yang paling sesuai untuk meletakkan alat ukur.
