Abstract

The research aims to determine the fundamental mathematical elements as identified by Bishop contained in the dance art Rampak Bedug Banten. In addition, this research aims to explore the potential for integrating the Banten Rampak Bedug dance art into mathematics education materials used in schools. The research methodology used in this research is qualitative research, specifically using an ethnographic approach. Data collection methods used include interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of research data includes several strategies, such as expanding observations, increasing persistence, using reference materials, using data triangulation, and using source triangulation. The findings of this research indicate the existence of ethnomathematics practices and the incorporation of mathematical principles in the Rampak Bedug Banten dance. The Banten Rampak Bedug dance includes several ethnomathematics activities including counting, locating, measuring, creating, playing and explaining. The Rampak Bedug dance incorporates mathematical elements such as straight lines and flat shapes, including rectangles, trapezoids and circles. In addition, we must consider the idea of geometric shapes represented by tubes and beams, with geometric transformations in their translated form. The results of the analysis show that the Banten Rampak Bedug dance contains elements of mathematics, and all components of the Rampak Bedug dance can be combined and applied in the context of mathematics education at school.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui unsur-unsur matematis mendasar seperti yang diidentifikasi oleh Bishop yang terdapat dalam seni tari Rampak Bedug Banten. Selain itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali potensi integrasi seni tari Rampak Bedug Banten ke dalam materi pendidikan matematika yang dimanfaatkan di sekolah. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, khususnya menggunakan pendekatan etnografi. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data penelitian meliputi beberapa strategi, seperti memperluas observasi, meningkatkan ketekunan, menggunakan bahan referensi, menggunakan triangulasi data, dan menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya praktik etnomatematika dan penggabungan prinsip matematika dalam tari Rampak Bedug Banten. Tarian Banten Rampak Bedug meliputi beberapa kegiatan etnomatematika antara lain menghitung, menentukan lokasi, mengukur, merancang, memainkan, dan menjelaskan. Tari Rampak Bedug memasukkan unsur matematika seperti garis lurus dan bentuk datar, antara lain persegi panjang, trapesium, dan lingkaran. Selain itu,terdapat unsur matematika berupa bangun ruang berupa tabung dan transformasi geometri berupa translasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tari Rampak Bedug Banten mengandung unsur matematika, dan seluruh komponen tari Rampak Bedug dapat dipadukan dan diterapkan dalam konteks pendidikan matematika di sekolah.
