Abstract

Podcasts are an audio learning medium that is currently popular and suitable for use in learning listening skills. This research aims to describe the development of podcast learning media and describe the feasibility and responses of students to podcast learning media in learning critical listening skills for explanatory texts in class V of elementary schools. This research was conducted at Kebon Jahe State Elementary School. Data collection techniques in this research are interviews, observation, questionnaires and documentation. The research and development method uses a research and development research design by Borg & Gall developed by Sugiono, namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, design revision, and product trials (limited trials). Based on validation, material experts obtained an average percentage score of 81.5% in the "Very Decent" category, validation from media experts obtained an average percentage score of 89.37% in the "Very Decent" category, validation from language experts obtained an average percentage score. -an average of 81.87% in the "Very Eligible" category. The accumulated validation results of podcast learning media obtained an average percentage score of 84.24% in the "Very worthy" category. The results of product trials (limited trials) on 18 class V students at Kebon Jahe State Elementary School obtained an average percentage score of 88.3% in the "Very good" category. Based on the results of research and development, it can be concluded that podcast learning media is very suitable and very good for use in learning critical listening skills for explanatory texts in class V of elementary schools.

Additional Information: Podcast menjadi media pembelajaran audio yang saat ini disenangi dan cocok digunakan dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan media pembelajaran podcast dan mendeskripsikan kelayakan serta respons peserta didik terhadap media pemebelajaran podcast dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak kritis teks eksplanasi di kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Negeri Kebon Jahe. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu wawancara, observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan menggunakan desain penelitian research and development oleh Borg & Gall yang dikembangkan oleh Sugiono yaitu potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi produk, revisi desain, dan uji coba produk (uji coba terbatas). Berdasarkan validasi ahli materi memperoleh persentase nilai rata-rata sebesar 81,5% dengan kategori “Sangat layak”, validasi ahli media memperoleh persentase nilai rata-rata sebesar 89,37% dengan kategori “Sangat layak”, validasi ahli bahasa memperoleh persentase nilai rata-rata sebesar 81,87% dengan kategori “Sangat layak”. Hasil akumulasi validasi media pembelajaran podcast memperoleh persentase nilai rata-rata sebesar 84,24% dengan kategori “Sangat layak”. Hasil uji coba produk (uji coba terbatas) kepada 18 peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Kebon Jahe memperoleh persentase nilai rata-rata sebesar 88,3% dengan kategori “Sangat baik”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pengembangan dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran podcast sangat layak dan sangat baik untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak kritis teks eksplanasi di kelas V Sekolah Dasar.
