Abstract

This study describes how the process of character education through the Seven Habits program is in the SMA Peradaban Boarding School, Serang City. The formation of student characters from the implementation of Seven Habits, whether successful or not. The method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative method, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. To the informants involved in this research, which are principals, teachers, guardians of boarding schools, and students from the Peradaban Boarding School Senior High School in Serang City. The results show that the process of implementing character education through Seven Habits is seen from Pierre Bourdieu's theory, namely the Cultural Production Arena theory which consists of four well-known subjects: habitus, capital/capital, arena (field), and symbolic. Seven Habits is only seen through the theory of habitus, capital and arena (field). Seven Habits consists of seven habits that are internalized into the individual. 1) be proactive (be proactive), 2) Begin With The End In Mind (refer to the final goal), 3) Put First Things First, 4) Think Win-Win (Think Win/Win), 5 ) Seek First To Understand, Then To Be Understood, 6) Synergize, and 7) Sharpen The Saw. These seven habits are internalized into the students of SMA Peradaban Boarding School Serang City, with the hope of creating character according to the school's vision and mission.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini menggambarkan bagaimana proses Pendidikan Karakter melalui program Seven Habits yang ada di lingkungan SMA Peradaban Boarding School Kota Serang. Terbentuknya karakter siswa dari implementasi Seven Habits tersebut baik yang berhasil maupun tidak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif-kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi serta dokumentasi. Terhadap informan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini, yang merupakan kepala sekolah, guru, wali asrama, serta siswa dari lingkungan SMA Peradaban Boarding School Kota Serang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pendidikan karakter melalui Seven Habits dilihat dari teori Pierre Bourdieu yaitu teori Arena Produksi Kultural yang terdiri dari empat pokok bahasan yang terkenal: habitus, modal/kapital, arena (field), dan simbolik. Seven Habits hanya dilihat melalui teori habitus, modal/kapital dan arena (field). Seven Habits terdiri dari tujuh kebiasaan yang diinternalisasikan ke dalam diri individu. 1) be proactive (bersikap proktif), 2) Begin With The End In Mind (merujuk pada tujuan akhir), 3) Put First Things First (Dahulukan yang Utama), 4) Think Win-Win (Berpikir Menang/Menang), 5) Seek First To Understand, Then To Be Understood (Berusaha untuk Memahami Terlebih dulu, Baru Dipahami), 6) Synergize (Wujudkan Sinergi), dan 7) Sharpen The Saw (Mengasah Gergaji). Tujuh habit atau kebiasaan ini diinternalisasikan ke dalam diri siswa SMA Peradaban Boarding School Kota Serang, dengan harapan dapat menciptakan karakter sesuai dengan visi dan misi sekolah tersebut.
