Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on students' cognitive learning outcomes on modern theater material in teaching and learning activities at school. This research was conducted using quantitative methods with quasi-experimental data analysis techniques. The results showed that students could not easily understand and could not play an active role in the process of modern theater learning activities so that the decline in cognitive learning outcomes. Based on the results of the data in this study, it has shown a significant comparison between the control class and the experimental class. The pretest results of the two classes are that there is an average value of the control class X = 19.9 and the Experiment class X = 18.1. After that the researchers gave different treatments as proof of the experiment using the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model in the experimental class and the control class using conventional learning methods which had a comparison of the average posttest scores, namely the control class X = 21.7 and the experimental class X = 33.4.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Team Games tournamen (TGT) terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi teater modern dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar di sekolah. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik data analisis kuasi eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa tidak dapat mudah memahami dan tidak dapat berperan aktif dalam proses kegiatan belajar teater modern sehingga turunnya hasil belajar kognitif. Berdasarkan hasil data pada penelitian ini telah menunjukan perbandingan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan juga kelas eksperimen. Hasil pretest kedua kelas yakni terdapat nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol X = 19,9 dan kelas Eksperimen X = 18,1. Setelah itu peneliti memberikan treatment yang berbeda sebagai pembuktian ekperimennya menggunakan model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament (TGT) pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional yang memiliki perbandingan nilai rata-rata posttest yakni kelas kontrol X = 21,7 dan kelas eksperimen X = 33,4.
