Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of ecranization in the form of reduction, expansion and various changes in the novel My Idiot Brother by Agnes Davonar into film form and their implications as literary teaching materials in high school. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The sources for this research are the novel My Idiot Brother by Agnes Davonar and the film My Idiot Brother directed by Alyandra. The data collection technique in this research uses comparative literature with listening and note-taking techniques. The results of this research show a form of expansion in: a) a reduction of 16 data, b) an expansion of 18 data, and c) varying changes of 18 data. This ecranization research can have implications for literature learning in high school in the achievement element of Listening to Popular Oral Literary Texts in phase F.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk ekranisasi berupa penciutan, perluasan, serta perubahan bervariasi yang terdapat dalam novel My Idiot Brother karya Agnes Davonar ke dalam bentuk film serta implikasinya sebagai bahan ajar sastra di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber penelitian ini adalah novel My Idiot Brother karya Agnes Davonar dan film My Idiot Brother sutradara Alyandra. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan sastra bandingan dengan teknik simak dan catat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bentuk ekranisasi pada: a) penciutan sebanyak 16 data, b) perluasan sebanyak 18 data, dan c) perubahan bervariasi sebanyak 18 data. Penelitian ekranisasi ini dapat diimplikasikan dalam pembelajaran sastra di SMA pada elemen capaian Menyimak Teks Sastra Lisan Populer pada fase F.
