Abstract
The main point of this paper discusses voting behavior towards groups with the same culture, namely the religious community in the Santri area of Bayah District. The religious community in the Santri area of Bayah District shows an asymmetrical voting behavior, that is, they are more dominant in choosing nationalist parties compared to Islamic parties. The research method used in this paper is a qualitative research method with a realist ethnographic approach from Creswell. This research uses the theory of voting behavior put forward by Dalton which explains voting behavior in the dimensions of sociological, psychological and rational choice and other influences according to the funnel of causality or chimneys. The results of this research explain the asymmetris portait of choosing religious communities in the Santri are of Bayah District for nationalist and Islamic parties in legislative in Lebak Regency elections in the reform era. Firstly, it is caused by the strength of the figure or candidate so that political parties do not have a significant influence, because the party is only a place and the people who run it are the people. Second, because of the closeness of family, vision and mission. The third is caused by economic factors and the influence of friends. These factors show that the voting behavior or religious communities in the Santri area, the political preferences of religious communities are more likely to see candidates or figures who are not political parties.

| Additional Information: | Pokok tulisan ini membincang perilaku memilih (voting behavior) terhadap kelompok berkebudayaan sama yaitu komunitas religius di wilayah Santri Kecamatan Bayah Kabupaten Lebak yang menunjukkan adanya perilaku memilih yang tidak simetris, yaitu lebih dominan memilih partai-partai nasionalis dibandingkan dengan partai-partai Islami. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi realis dari Creswell. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori perilaku memilih (voting behavior) yang dikemukakan oleh Dalton yang menjelaskan perilaku memilih dalam dimensi sosiologis, psikologis dan pilihan rasional (rasional choice) serta pengaruh lainnya sesuai dengan funnel of causality atau cerobong asap. Hasil riset ini, menjelaskan mengenai potret asimetris memilih komunitas religius di wilayah Santri Kecamatan Bayah terhadap partai-partai nasionalis dan Islami pada pemilu legislatif di Kabupaten Lebak pada era reformasi. Pertama disebabkan oleh kekuatan figur atau kandidat sehingga partai politik tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan, karena partai hanya menjadi tempat dan yang menjalankannya adalah manusianya. Kedua karena adanya kedekatan kekeluargaan, visi, dan misi. Ketiga disebabkan oleh faktor ekonomi dan pengaruh teman. Dari faktor tersebut menunjukkan bahwa perilaku memilih komunitas religius di wilayah Santri preferensi politik komunitas religius lebih cenderung melihat kandidat atau figur bukan partai politik. | ||||||
