Abstract

21st century skills are skills that must be applied and developed from elementary school age, so that students have a variety of more complex skills to face the challenges of the 21st century. This research aims to describe the supporting capacity of school principals in creating a 21st century skills-based learning environment, the process planning and implementing project-based learning, and 21st century skills in project-based learning. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods carried out at SDN 1 Sukaraja. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that school principals have provided their support to create a 21st century skills-based learning environment by compiling and implementing school programs, developing human resources, especially teachers, and providing adequate infrastructure. Apart from that, teachers have compiled and created learning tools that can support the application of 21st century skills in project-based learning, and the learning process carried out has run systematically in accordance with project-based learning syntax. Therefore, project-based learning has developed students 21st century skills which include critical thinking skills in solving problems on worksheets, creativity in making projects such as printed dictionary boxes, double meaning cards and floor plans, collaboration in competing worksheets and project, communication in conveying opinions and results of group discussions, citizenship in having good relationships with group friends without discriminating, and character in behaving like, having polite, independent, critical reasoning, global diversity, working together and creative in completing assigned tasks.

Additional Information: Keterampilan abad 21 merupakan keterampilan yang harus diterapkan dan dikembangkan sejak usia sekolah dasar, agar peserta didik memiliki berbagai keterampilan yang lebih kompleks untuk menghadapi tantangan di abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan daya dukung kepala sekolah dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar berbasis keterampilan abad 21, proses perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan keterampilan abad 21 dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif yang dilaksanakan di SDN 1 Sukaraja. Teknik pengumpulan datanya meliputi observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah sudah memberikan daya dukungnya untuk mencipatakan lingkungan belajar berbasis keterampilan abad 21 dengan menyusun dan melaksanakan program sekolah, melakukan pengembangan sumber daya manusia khususnya guru, serta menyediakan sarana prasarana yang memadai. Selain itu, guru sudah menyusun dan membuat perangkat pembelajaran yang dapat mendukung penerapan keterampilan abad 21 dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan proses pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan sudah berjalan dengan sistematis sesuai dengan sintaks pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran berbasis proyek sudah mengembangkan keterampilan abad 21 peserta didik yang meliputi, keterampilan berpikir kritis (critical thinking) dalam memecahkan permasalahan pada lembar kerja, kreativitas (creativity) dalam membuat proyek seperti, kotak kamus cetak, kartu makna ganda dan denah, kolaborasi (collaboration) dalam menyelesaikan lembar kerja dan proyek, komunikasi (communication) dalam menyampaikan pendapat dan hasil diskusi kelompok, kewarganegaraan (citizenship) dalam memiliki hubungan yang baik dengan teman kelompok tanpa membeda-bedakan, dan karakter (character) dalam berperilaku seperti, memiliki sopan santun, mandiri, bernalar kritis, berkebhinekaan global, bergotong royong dan kreatif dalam menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan.
