Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of vermicompost dosage on the growth and production of two varieties of sweet corn (Zea mays var. saccharata Sturt.). The research has been held from July until September 2020 in which took place in the UPTD Seed and Protection of Horticultural Food Crops and Plantations, Serang, Banten. The research design used was a factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors. The first factor was the dose of vermicompost consisted of five levels, the dose of vermicompost fertilizer 3; 4; 5; 6 and 7 tons/ha. The second factor was varieties consisted of two levels, F1 Bonanza and F1 Talent. The dose of vermicompost 5 tons/ha gave the best effect on the parameters of plant height 4 WAP (Weeks After Planting) with an average value of 88,92 cm, the number of cobs planted with an average value of 2,16 cobs, canopy wet weight with an average value of 399,25 g and seed sugar content with an average value of 13,17 0Brix. The F1 Talent variety gave the best effect on the parameters of plant height 6 WAP (Weeks After Planting) with an average value of 152,33 cm, the number of cobs planted with an average value of 1,83 cobs, and the number of seeds per cob with an average value of 676,13 seeds. It can be concluded that the dose of vermicompost fertilizer at 5 tons/ha and the use of the F1 Talent variety can increase the growth and yield of sweet corn.

| Additional Information: | Jagung manis (Zea mays var. saccharata Sturt.) merupakan komoditas yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi, Jagung manis memiliki keunggulan rasa yang lebih manis, mengandung karbohidrat, protein, dan vitamin yang tinggi serta kandungan lemak yang rendah. Hal tersebut menyebabkan kebutuhan jagung manis nasional terus meningkat dan sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan di Indonesia. Upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi jagung manis yang berimbang yaitu dengan menggunakan pupuk organik yang dihasilkan dari kotoran cacing. Faktor lain yang menentukan hasil jagung manis adalah penggunaan varietas unggul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian dosis pupuk kascing pada pertumbuhan dan hasil dua varietas tanaman jagung manis (Zea mays var. saccharata Sturt.). Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk kascing (K) dengan 5 taraf dosis pupuk kascing 3; 4; 5; 6 dan 7 ton/ha. Faktor kedua varietas jagung manis dengan 2 taraf, varietas Bonanza F1 dan varietas Talenta F1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kascing 5 ton/ha memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis pada parameter tinggi tanaman 4 MST (Minggu Setelah Tanam) dengan nilai rata-rata 88,92 cm, jumlah tongkol pertanaman dengan nilai rata-rata 2,16 tongkol; bobot basah tajuk dengan nilai rata-rata 399,25 g dan kadar gula dengan nilai rata-rata 13,17oBrix. Varietas Talenta F1 memberikan pengaruh terbaik pada parameter tinggi tanaman 6 MST dengan nilai rata-rata 152,33 cm, jumlah tongkol pertanaman dengan nilai rata-rata 1,83 tongkol, dan jumlah biji pertongkol dengan nilai rata-rata 676,13 biji. Sedangkan varietas Bonanza F1 memberikan pengaruh nyata pada jumlah daun 8 MST dengan nilai rata-rata 13,03 helai. Terdapat interaksi antara pemberian dosis pupuk kascing dengan varietas pada tinggi tanaman jagung manis 4 MST dengan nilai rata-rata 94,00 cm. | |||||||||
