Abstract
Composite is a material composed of reinforcement and a matrix which has the characteristics of being light and relatively strong. In this research, an epoxy resin matrix and PVAc paste and filler were used as reinforcement, that is TKKS, sengon and bamboo fibers. This research aims to evaluate the effect of immersion time for bamboo in rice field water on its physical and mechanical properties and evaluate the surface morphology and fracture of the resulting particle board. Bamboo was treated without immersion and immersion treatment for a period of 15 days, 45 days and 60 days. From the test results, it was found that the best mechanical and physical properties occurred in bamboo treated with soaking for 45 days. With a density value of 0.642 gr/cm3, thickness expansion of 9.99%, hardness of 44.3 shore D and flexural strength of 34.88 kgf/cm2. The results of observations of the morphology of the surface and fracture face of the specimen can be stated that the type of fracture that occurred was a ductile fracture characterized by an uneven and fibrous fracture surface. From the observation results it can also be seen that there are porosity and fiber pull out defects on the fracture face of the specimen. Then to find out the optimum value with multi response optimization using the weighting method and it was found that the optimum value in this study was obtained on particle board with bamboo immersion for 45 days with the largest MRPI value, that is 28.740. Additional Information: | Komposit merupakan salah satu material yang tersusun dari penguat (reinforce) dan matriks yang memiliki karateristik ringan dan relatif kuat. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan matriks resin epoxy dan perekan PVAc dan filler sebagai penguat yaitu serat TKKS, sengon, dan bambu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh waktu perendaman pada bambu di air sawah terhadap sifat fisis dan sifat mekanis dan mengevaluasi morfologi permukaan dan patahan papan partikel yang dihasilkan. Bambu diberikan perlakuan tanpa perandaman dan Perlakuan perendaman dengan lama waktu 15 hari, 45 hari, dan 60 hari. Dari hasil pengujian didapatkan bahwa nilai sifat mekanis dan sifat fisis terbaik terjadi pada bambu dengan perlakuan perendaman selama 45 hari. Dengan nilai densitas 0,642 gr/cm3, pengembangan tebal 9,99%, kekerasan 44,3 shore D dan keteguhan lentur 34,88 kgf/cm2. Hasil pengamatan morfologi permukaan dan muka patahan spesimen dapat dinyatakan bahwa jenis patahan yang terjadi yaitu patahan ulet yang ditandai dengan permukaan patahan yang tidak rata dan berserat. Dari hasil pengamatan juga dapat diketahui bahwa terdapat cacat porositas dan fiber pull out pada muka patahan spesimen. Kemudian untuk mengetahui nilai optimum dengan optimasi multi respon menggunakan metode pembobotan dan didapat bahwa nilai optimum pada penelitian ini didapatkan pada papan partikel dengan bambu perendaman 45 hari dengan nilai MRPI terbesar yaitu 28,740.
