Abstract
Transportation plays a vital role not only in the daily lives of individuals but also in the distribution of products by companies. PT. XYZ, a waste treatment company, utilises trucks as a means of transportation and product distribution to Banten Province, with a weekly waste transportation volume ranging from 20 to 30 tonnes. Given the intensive nature of waste transportation, it is crucial to assess the workload and sleepiness levels of PT. XYZ drivers. These factors significantly contribute to work accidents, accounting for up to 50% of all incidents. In this study, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) method was employed to quantify driver workload, while the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS) and eye blink methods were utilised to assess sleepiness levels. Ten drivers were subjected to workload measurements. The results demonstrate that nine drivers fall within the medium workload category (score 50–80), while one driver falls within the heavy workload category (score > 80). Notably, mental demand emerges as the dominant factor influencing driver workload. Furthermore, the drivers' overall sleepiness levels remain within safe limits, as indicated by the highest KSS score recorded at 6.

Additional Information: | Kebutuhan akan transportasi bukan hanya diperlukan kehidupan sehari-hari secara individual saja, perusahaan pun memerlukan transportasi sebagai alat distribusi produk yang mereka produksi. Salah satu perusahaan yang memilih menggunakan truk sebagai alat transportasi dan cara distribusi produk adalah PT. XYZ yang bergerak dibidang pengolahan limbah. Dalam satu minggu bisa dilakukan 20-30 pengangkutan limbah untuk di propinsi Banten. Karena tingginya intensitas pengangkutan limbah tersebut, diperlukan pengukuran beban kerja dan tingkat kantuk sopir truk PT. XYZ. Hal ini dilakukan untuk melihat seberapa besar beban kerja dan tingkat kantuk sopir, karena dua hal tersebut menjadi faktor kecelakaan kerja dengan kontribusi sampai 50% dari keseluruhan kecelakaan. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengukur beban kerja sopir adalah dengan metode National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX), sedangkan untuk tingkat kantuk sopir menggunakan metode Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS) dan eye blink. Pengukuran beban kerja sopir dilakukan terhadap 10 sopir. Hasil pengukuran beban kerja sopir menunjukkan bahwa 9 sopir termasuk kategori beban kerja sedang (skor 50-80) dan 1 sopir lainnya termasuk kategori beban kerja berat (skor > 80) dengan mental demand menjadi faktor dominan terhadap beban kerja sopir.
