Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic and the policy of fuel increase policy have become subsequent problems that have had a broad impact on the capture fisheries, not exception on payang fishing at the Wadas Fish Landing Base. The aim of this research is to assess the feasibility of boat seine fishing in Wadas. The research was conducted from March - April 2023. The deep interview was done with a total of 15 people who were selected using purposive sampling with several criteria. The results from the COVID-19 pandemic period and after the COVID-19 pandemic show that the results of business feasibility with several components having different values experience fluctuations in both variable costs and income obtained. Positive profit results have an R/C value of > 1, a payback period of fewer than 3 years, a positive NPV value, IRR > interest rate so the boat seine fishing business at PPI Wadas is still worth pursuing in the post COVID-19 pandemic period, and after the increase in fuel prices.

Additional Information:	Pandemi COVID-19 dan kebijakan kenaikan BBM menjadi masalah berikutnya yang berdampak luas pada perikanan tangkap, tidak terkecuali pada perikanan payang di Pangkalan Pendaratan Ikan (PPI) Wadas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kelayakan usaha perikanan payang di Pangkalan Pendaratan Ikan Wadas. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret - April 2023. Wawancara mendalam dilakukan dengan total 15 orang yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling dengan beberapa kriteria. Hasil penelitian pada masa pandemi COVID-19 dan setelah pandemi COVID-19 menunjukkan bahwa hasil kelayakan usaha dengan beberapa komponen yang memiliki nilai yang berbeda mengalami fluktuasi baik pada biaya variabel maupun pendapatan yang diperoleh. Hasil keuntungan yang positif memiliki nilai R/C > 1, payback period kurang dari 3 tahun, nilai NPV positif, IRR > tingkat suku bunga sehingga usaha penangkapan ikan pukat cincin di PPI Wadas masih layak untuk diusahakan pada periode pasca pandemi COVID-19, dan pasca kenaikan harga BBM.
