Abstract
This research is based on problems regarding the ability to read early, and the lack of vocabulary in children with hearing impairments and children are still unable to read words. The purpose of the study is to improve the ability to read early in children with hearing impairments with target behavior, namely the ability to read early. The subjects of this study were children with hearing impairments in grade 2 elementary school at SKh Bina Citra Anak. The method used is Single Subject Research with A-B-A research design. Development can be seen in the baseline-phase-1 (A1), the intervention phase (B) and the baseline-2 (A2) phase. Processed data is presented in simple descriptive statistical form through graphs and percentage values. The results showed a significant improvement in the ability to read the beginning of the study subjects using LUDO KATA media with evidence of the acquisition of mean level comparison values on target behavior initial reading ability, baseline-1 (A1) phases getting an average score of 33%, intervention phase (B) getting an average score of 64.8% and baseline-phase-2 (A2) getting an average score of 62%. So the use of LUDO KATA media can have an effect in improving the ability to read early in children with hearing impairments.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini berdasarkan adanya permasalahan mengenai kemampuan membaca permulaan, dan minimnya kosa kata pada anak dengan hambatan pendengaran serta anak masih belum mampu dalam membaca kata. Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak dengan hambatan pendengaran dengan target behavior, yaitu kemampuan membaca permulaan. Subyek penelitian ini adalah anak dengan hambatan pendengaran kelas 2 SD di SKh Bina Citra Anak. Metode yang digunakan adalah Single Subject Research dengan desain penelitian A-B-A. Perkembangan dapat dilihat pada fase baseline- 1 (A1), fase intervensi (B) dan fase baseline- 2 (A2). Data yang diolah disajikan dalam bentuk statistik deskriptif sederhana melalui grafik dan nilai persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan membaca permulaan subyek penelitian menggunakan media LUDO KATA dengan dibuktikannya perolehan nilai perbandingan mean level pada target behavior kemampuan membaca permulaan, fase baseline- 1 (A1) mendapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 33%, fase intervensi (B) mendapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 64,8% dan fase baseline- 2 (A2) mendapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 62%. Maka penggunaan media LUDO KATA berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak dengan hambatan pendengaran. | |||||||||
