Abstract

The research objectives were to determine the learning conditions in speaking lectures, to analyze the needs of students and lecturers for the development of audio-visual content-based English learning models, to develop audio-visual content-based English learning models and to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of audio-visual-based English learning models. content to improve joyful learning, speaking skills and teaching skills. This research is a Research and Development (R&D). The development model uses the ADDIE development model which includes 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The trial design was carried out in two stages, namely limited field trials and wide field trials. The data collection technique used a questionnaire to see the validity and practicality of the learning model developed and joyful learning, and tests to see speaking and teaching skills. The research instrument consisted of questionnaires on the validity and practicality of learning models, learning tools and joyful learning questionnaires. Test instrument to see speaking and teaching skills. The data analysis technique used is the validity and practicality percentage and the n-gain value calculation to see the increase in joyful learning, speaking skills tests and English teaching skills. This research has produced an audio-visual content based English learning model that is valid and practical to use. The learning tools are in the form of semester lesson plans and speaking for general communication textbooks which are valid and practical to use in learning. Based on the results of the n-gain calculation, there is a significant increase in joyful learning, speaking and teaching skills. Thus it is concluded that the English language learning model based on Audio Visual Content and learning tools is valid, practical and effective to use in speaking for general communication lectures.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kondisi pembelajaran pada perkuliahan speaking, menganalisis kebutuhan mahasiswa dan dosen terhadap pengembangan model pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis audio visual content, mengembangkan model pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis audio visual content dan mengetahui kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan model pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis audio visual content untuk meningkatkan joyful learning, keterampilan berbicara dan keterampilan mengajar. Penelitian ini merupakan Research and Development (R&D). Model pengembangan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi 5 tahap yaitu analysis, design, development, Implementation, dan evaluation. Desain uji coba dilakukan dengan dua tahapan yakni uji coba lapangan terbatas dan uji coba lapangan luas. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner untuk melihat validitas dan praktikalitas model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dan joyful learning, dan tes untuk melihat keterampilan berbicara dan mengajar. Instrument penelitian terdiri dari lembar kuesioner validitas dan praktikalitas model pembelajaran, perangkat pembelajaran dan kuesioner joyful learning. Instrument tes untuk melihat keterampilan berbicara dan mengajar. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan berupa persentase kevalidan dan kepraktisan dan perhitungan nilai n-gain untuk melihat peningkatan joyful learning, tes keterampilan berbicara dan keterampilan mengajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini telah menghasilkan model pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis audio visual content valid dan praktis digunakan. Perangkat pembelajaran berupa rencana pembelajaran semester dan buku ajar speaking for general communication yang valid dan praktis digunakan di dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan n-gain terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan joyful learning, keterampilan berbicara dan mengajar. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berbasis Audio Visual Content dan perangkat pembelajaran valid, praktis dan efektif digunakan pada perkuliahan speaking for general communication.
