Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media using comics based on RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) to increase interest in learning and learning outcomes for middle school students that are valid, practical and effective. The development model used in this research is the ADDIE Model with 5 stages, namely 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. The instruments used in this research were expert tests, student responses, learning interest and student learning outcomes. The feasibility test for comic media was carried out by 6 experts including 2 mathematicians who gave an assessment with a percentage of 84% and 82.6%, the criteria were very valid. Then 2 media experts gave assessments with percentages of 88% and 80%, obtaining very valid criteria. As well as 2 education experts who provided assessments with percentages of 86.6% and 90%, the criteria were very valid. Next, a revision stage of teaching materials was carried out to be perfected and tested on 38 class VII students at SMPN 2 Tigaraksa. The percentage obtained from the results of the student response questionnaire was 83% (practical). The calculation results from the learning interest questionnaire show an average increase of 0.50 in the N-Gain category of moderate increase. Meanwhile, the results of the calculation of learning outcomes show an average increase of 0.75 in the high increase N-Gain category. The conclusion obtained is that comic media based on RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) is said to be feasible and good because it meets the aspects of validity, practicality and effectiveness.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran menggunakan komik berbasis RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) untuk meningkatkan minat belajar dan hasil belajar siswa SMP yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Uji kelayakan media komik dilakukan oleh 6 orang ahli diantaranya 2 orang ahli kurikulum matematika yang memberikan penilaian dengan persentase sebesar 84% dan 82,6%, didapatkan kriteria sangat valid. Kemudian 2 orang ahli media yang memberikan penilaian dengan persentase sebesar 88% dan 80%, didapatkan kriteria sangat valid. Serta 2 orang ahli Pendidikan yang memberikan penilaian dengan persentase sebesar 86,6% dan 90%, didapatkan kriteria sangat valid. Selanjutnya dilakukan tahap revisi bahan ajar untuk disempurnakan dan di uji coba kepada 38 siswa kelas VII di SMPN 2 Tigaraksa. Persentase yang didapatkan dari hasil kuesioner respon siswa sebesar 83% (praktis). Hasil perhitungan dari angket minat belajar menunjukkan rata-rata peningkatan sebesar 0,50 dalam kategori N-Gain peningkatan sedang. Sedangkan untuk hasil perhitungan hasil belajar menunjukkan rata-rata peningkatan sebesar 0,75 dalam kategori N-Gain peningkatan tinggi. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh bahwa media komik berbasis RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) dikatakan layak dan baik karena memenuhi aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan.
