Abstract

Problem solving is very important because it can affect aspects of student activity in the mathematics learning process. This study aims to determine the solving of mathematical problems using the Scaffolding technique in the Scientific Method approach based on independent learning. This research was conducted on class VIII students of MTs Mathla'ul Anwar Menes Pusat even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental. Samples were taken from two existing classes, one class was used as an experimental class, namely the class whose learning used the Scaffolding technique in the Scientific Method approach, the other class as the control class, namely using Scientific learning. The results showed (1) the final achievement of students' mathematical problem solving after participating in learning using the Scaffolding technique in the Scientific Method approach was better than learning using the Scientific approach. (2) There is an interaction between learning the scaffolding technique in the Scientific Method approach with the Scientific approach and with student learning independence. (3) There are differences in solving students' mathematical problems after participating in learning using the Scaffolding technique in the Scientific Method approach with learning using a Scientific approach to student learning independence in the high group. (4) There are differences in solving students' mathematical problems after participating in learning using the Scaffolding technique in the Scientific Method approach with learning using a Scientific approach to student learning independence in the low group.

Additional Information: Pemecahan masalah sangat penting dimiliki karena dapat mempengaruhi aspek keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemecahan masalah matematis dengan menggunakan teknik Scaffolding pada pendekatan Scientific Method berdasarkan kemandirian belajar. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap siswa kelas VIII MTs Mathla’ul Anwar Pusat Menes semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Sampel diambil dua kelas yang ada, satu kelas dijadikan sebagai kelas ekperimen yaitu kelas yang pembelajarannya menggunakan teknik Scaffolding pada pendekatan Scientific Method satu kelas lainnya sebagai kelas kontrol yaitu menggunakan pembelajaran Scientific. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) pencapaian akhir pemecahan masalah matematis siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan teknik Scaffolding pada pendekatan Scientific Method lebih baik dari pada pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan Scientific. (2) Terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran teknik Scaffolding pada pendekatan Scientific Method dengan pendekatan Scientific dan dengan kemandirian belajar siswa. (3) Terdapat perbedaan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan teknik Scaffolding pada pendekatan Scientific Method dengan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan Scientific terhadap kemandirian belajar siswa pada kelompok tinggi. (4) Terdapat perbedaan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran menggunakan teknik Scaffolding pada pendekatan Scientific Method dengan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan Scientific terhadap kemandirian belajar siswa pada kelompok rendah.
