Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of students understanding the material and unable to solve problems on the material of flat-sided space building. In this case, students need to learn to understand simple concepts of flat-sided spaces with learning provided based on real-life contexts and facilitate students in learning through problem-based learning assisted by geogebra. This study aims to determine the use of the context of "cake" in learning flat-sided space, designing Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT), and student perceptions of the integration of geogebra software in learning flat-sided space. The type of approach used in this research is Design Research. The essential characteristic of design research is that it is cyclic. The research subjects in the preliminary teaching were observed students' responses to the learning that had been designed and the initial HLT was tested to see students in passing the learning trajectory involving class VII Rasuna Said. The teaching experiment is a situation in actual teaching with the application of the revised HLT results involving class VII Jenderal Sudirman. The results of the data obtained were analyzed qualitatively. The results of the retrospective analysis showed that the use of cake context in learning flat-sided space through problem-based learning found problem solving and helped students in the connection between real-life contexts such as cakes with flat-sided space building material and made it easier for students to understand geogebra-assisted material.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya siswa memahami materi dan tidak mampu menyelesaikan soal pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Dalam hal ini, siswa perlu belajar memahami konsep sederhana bangun ruang sisi datar dengan pembelajaran yang diberikan berdasarkan konteks kehidupan nyata dan memfasilitasi siswa dalam pembelajaran melalui problem based learning berbantuan geogebra. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui penggunaan konteks “kue” dalam pembelajaran bangun ruang sisi datar, merancang Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT), dan persepsi siswa terhadap integrasi software geogebra dalam pembelajaran bangun ruang sisi datar. Jenis pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Design Research. Karakteristik esensial dari design research yaitu berbentuk siklus (cyclic). Subjek penelitian pada pengajaran awal (preliminary teaching) dilakukan observasi respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang telah didesain dan HLT awal diujicobakan melihat siswa dalam melewati lintasan pembelajaran melibatkan kelas VII Rasuna Said. Uji coba pengajaran (teaching eksperiment) yaitu situasi pada pengajaran yang sebenarnya dengan pengaplikasian hasil revisi HLT melibatkan kelas VII Jenderal Sudirman. Hasil data yang diperoleh yaitu analisis secara kualitatif. Hasil analisis tinjauan (retrospective analysis) menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan konteks kue dalam pembelajaran bangun ruang sisi datar melalui problem based learning menemukan penyelesaian masalah dan membantu siswa keterkaitan antara konteks kehidupan nyata seperti kue dengan materi bangun ruang sisi datar serta memudahkan siswa dalam memahami materi berbantuan geogebra.
