Abstract
This study aims to describe the forms of news text redundancy in the captions of the Berita Cilegon Online Instagram account on July 1-August 31, 2022 and the factors that cause redundancy. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach and data collection using listening and note�taking techniques. The data findings produced in this study totaled 41 data. The data can be detailed, namely there are two or more words that have the same meaning in one phrase 18 data, words that are actually no longer necessary because the meaning contained in the word is already contained in the word that precedes or follows 21 data, and the plural form is stated twice 2 data along with factors that influence the existence of redundancy, namely the writer is not aware that what he writes contains redundancy, so he makes it unintentionally.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk redundansi teks berita pada caption akun Instagram Berita Cilegon Online pada 1 Juli-31 Agustus 2022 beserta faktor yang menyebabkan adanya redundansi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan pengumpulan data dengan teknik simak catat dan teknik cakap semuka. Temuan data yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini secara keseluruhan berjumlah 41 data. Data tersebut dapat diperinci yaitu terdapat dua atau lebih kata yang memiliki arti yang sama dalam satu frasa 18 data, kata yang sebenarnya tidak perlu lagi karena pengertian yang terkandung pada kata tersebut sudah terkandung pada kata yang mendahuluinya atau sesudahnya 21 data, dan bentuk jamak dinyatakan dua kali 2 data beserta faktor yang mempengaruhi adanya redundansi yaitu penulis tidak sadar, bahwa apa yang ditulisnya mengandung sifat berlebih-lebihan, jadi dibuatnya dengan tidak sengaja. | |||||||||
