Abstract

Despite the flipped classroom not being a novel learning approach, its utilization in junior high schools is still uncommon among teachers. Moreover, student’s perception on the use of flipped classroom in junior high schools remains unknown. The researcher conducted this study to investigate the student’s perception on the use of YouTube in flipped classrooms. It describes the type of students' perceptions, the processes, dimensions, and factors that affect students’ perception at SMP Negeri 1 Cikupa. There were thirty-three participants in this research. The participants were selected by using purposive sampling. This research was a case study. The researcher used observation, interviews, and questionnaires to collect the data. The research results show that students' perceptions on the use of YouTube in the flipped classroom are positive. Students appreciate the flexibility of learning, ease of access and make learning through the use of videos more effective. Personal and functional factors influence students' perception on YouTube, and it is important to consider these factors in designing an effective flipped classroom to increase students' acceptance of YouTube's use as a learning resource. Consequently, based on these results, the teacher could contemplate a more in-depth exploration of the benefits associated with implementing the flipped classroom approach, which holds advantages for both students and the teacher.

Additional Information: Meskipun flipped classroom bukanlah pendekatan pembelajaran yang baru, penggunaannya di sekolah menengah pertama sekolah menengah pertama masih jarang digunakan oleh para guru. Selain itu, persepsi siswa tentang penggunaan flipped classroom di sekolah menengah pertama masih belum diketahui. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini untuk menyelidiki persepsi siswa tentang penggunaan YouTube di dalam ruang kelas terbalik. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan jenis persepsi siswa, proses, dimensi, dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Cikupa. Ada Ada tiga puluh tiga peserta dalam penelitian ini. Partisipan dipilih dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus. Peneliti menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa persepsi siswa terhadap penggunaan YouTube di kelas terbalik adalah positif. Siswa mengapresiasi fleksibilitas pembelajaran, kemudahan akses dan membuat pembelajaran melalui penggunaan video menjadi lebih efektif. Faktor pribadi dan fungsional mempengaruhi persepsi siswa tentang YouTube, dan penting untuk mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor ini dalam merancang ruang kelas terbalik yang efektif yang efektif untuk meningkatkan penerimaan siswa terhadap penggunaan YouTube sebagai sumber belajar. Oleh karena itu, berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, guru dapat merenungkan secara lebih mendalam lebih mendalam tentang manfaat yang terkait dengan penerapan pendekatan flipped classroom, yang memiliki keuntungan bagi siswa dan guru
