Abstract

This research examines assertive, directive, commissive, expressive and declarative illocutionary speech acts in the novel Janji by Tere Liye. Conversation in the novel is related to speech. Through these speech acts, speakers can convey information to their speech partners as a means of communication. To find out the meaning and purpose of the speech in the novel Janji by Tere Liye, it can be done by identifying each speech with the theory proposed by experts, one of which is Searle. The purposes of this study are (1) to describe the types of assertive, directive, commissive, expressive and declarative illocutionary speech acts in the novel Janji by Tere Liye, (2) to describe the functions of assertive, directive, commissive, expressive and declarative illocutionary speech acts in the novel Janji by Tere Liye, and (3) to develop lesson plans in high school by utilizing the analysis results and findings from the novel Janji by Tere Liye. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques used are listening technique and note-taking technique. The data in this research are the utterances included in assertive, directive, commissive, expressive and declarative speech acts found in the novel Janji by Tere Liye. Based on the data analysis, the utterances in the novel Janji by Tere Liye which are included in the assertive, directive, commissive, expressive and declarative illocutionary speech acts are found as many as 221 data. n detail, the data of illocutionary speech acts in the novel Janji by Tere Liye include assertive speech acts with the function of stating (19), suggesting (5), boasting (9), complaining (1), and claiming (1). Then, the directive speech acts found are directive speech acts of ordering function as much as (2), commanding function as much as (54), begging function as much as (14), advising function as much as (5). Furthermore, the commissive illocutionary speech acts found are commissive speech acts with the function of promising as much as (5), the function of swearing as much as (2), and the function of offering as much as (27). The expressive illocutionary speech acts found are expressive speech acts of thanking function (27), apologizing function (29), and praising function (10). Finally, the declarative illocutionary speech acts found are declarative speech acts with the function of giving names as many as (5), the function of ostracizing as many as (5), and the function of punishing as many as (1). The results of the analysis and findings in this study are utilized to develop a Learning Implementation Plan in high school.

Untuk mengetahui makna dan dan tujuan dari tuturan dalam novel Janji karya Tere Liye tersebut, maka dapat dilakukan dengan cara mengidentifikasi setiap tuturan dengan teori yang dikemukakan oleh oleh para ahli, salah satunya Searle. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan jenis tindak tutur ilokusi asertif, direktif, komisif, ekspresif dan deklarasi dalam novel Janji karya Tere Liye, (2) mendeskripsikan fungsi tindak tutur ilokusi asertif, direktif, komisif, ekspresif dan deklarasi dalam novel Janji karya Tere Liye, dan (3) menyusun Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) di SMA dengan memanfaatkan hasil analisis dan temuan dari novel Janji karya Tere Liye. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik simak dan teknik catat. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan yang termasuk ke dalam tindak tutur asertif, direktif, komisif, ekspresif dan deklarasi yang ditemukan dalam novel Janji karya Tere Liye. Berdasarkan analisis data yang telah dilakukan, tuturan dalam novel Janji karya Tere Liye yang termasuk dalam tindak tutur ilokusi asertif, direktif, komisif, ekspresif dan deklarasi ditemukan sebanyak 221 data. Secara rinci data tindak tutur ilokusi pada novel Janji karya Tere Liye di antaranya tindak tutur asertif fungsi menyatakan sebanyak (19), fungsi menyarankan sebanyak (5), fungsi membual sebanyak (9), fungsi mengeluh sebanyak (1), dan fungsi mengklaim sebanyak (1). Kemudian, tindak tutur direktif yang ditemukan yakni tindak tutur direktif fungsi memesan sebanyak (2), fungsi memerintah sebanyak (54), fungsi memohon sebanyak (14), fungsi menasihati sebanyak (5). Selanjutnya tindak tutur ilokusi komisif yang ditemukan yakni tindak tutur komisif fungsi berjanji sebanyak (5), fungsi bersumpah sebanyak (2), dan fungsi menawarkan sebanyak (27). Adapun tindak tutur ilokusi ekspresif yang ditemukan yakni tindak tutur ekspresif fungsi berterima kasih sebanyak (27), fungsi meminta maaf sebanyak (29), dan fungsi memuji sebanyak (10). Yang terakhir, tindak tutur ilokusi deklarasi yang ditemukan yakni tindak tutur deklarasi fungsi memberi nama sebanyak (5), fungsi mengucilkan sebanyak (5), dan fungsi menghukum sebanyak (1). Hasil analisis dan temuan pada penelitian ini dimanfaatkan untuk menyusun Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran di SMA.
