Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of single dose of inorganic fertilizer N,P,K and the type of biological fertilizer on the growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays subsp. mays L.). The study was arranged in a randomized block design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor was the dose of single inorganic fertilizer N,P,K, which consisted of 3 levels: D1: 100%, D2: 75%, and D3: 50%. The second factor is the type of biological fertilizer, which consisted of 3 levels: P1: Sinarbio, P2: Kayabio, and P3: Ecofert. The results showed that the application of a single inorganic fertilizer N,P,K at a dose of 75% had a significant effect on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants, with the best results on the parameters of plant height at 10 WAP 187.63 cm, number of leaves at 10 MST 11,79 strands, stem diameter at 10 WAP 2.17 cm, number of cobs planted was 1.31 cobs, cob weight with cornhusk was 363.86 g, cob weight without cornhusk was 279.14 g, and yield potential was 9,275.34 kg/ha. The type of biofertilizer Sinarbio has a significant effect on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants, with the best results on the parameters of plant height at 10 WAP 181.31 cm, number of leaves at 10 MST 11.64 strands, stem diameter at 10 MST 2.07 cm, number of cobs planted was 1.31 cobs, number of cobs per plot was 18.00 cobs, cob weight cornhusk was 358.58 g,cob weight without cornhusk was 273.22 g, and yield potential was 9330.02 kg/ha. There was an interaction between single doses of inorganic fertilizers N,P,K and types of biological fertilizers on the growth of stem diameter of sweet corn plants at the of 6 WAP. The application of a single dose of 75% N, P, K inorganic fertilizer and Sinarbio type biofertilizer gave the best results on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants.

Additional Information: Jagung (Zea mays L.) merupakan komoditas pangan yang memiliki potensi besar untuk kepentingan industri pakan, dan pangan. Produksi jagung di Indonesia terus mengalami penurunan dari tahun 2018 hingga 2020. Penurunan produksi jagung disebabkan oleh banyak hal, kesuburan tanah yang rendah dianggap sebagai salah satu faktor penyebab rendahnya produktivitas jagung manis. Peningkatan produksi jagung nasional dapat dilakukan melalui peningkatan kesuburan tanah dengan menggunakan praktik budidaya yang tepat seperti penerapan pemupukan N,P,K yang efisien dan penerapan pupuk hayati. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian dosis pupuk anorganik tunggal N,P,K dan jenis pupuk hayati terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis (Zea mays subsp. mays L.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai Mei 2023 di Lahan Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Untirta Kampung Cikuya, Desa Sindangsari, Kecamatan Pabuaran, Kabupaten Serang, Provinsi Banten. Penelitian disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk anorganik tunggal N,P,K yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu D1: 100%, D2: 75%, dan D3: 50%. Faktor kedua adalah jenis pupuk hayati yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu P1: Sinarbio, P2: Kayabio, dan P3: Ecofert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk anorganik tunggal N,P,K dengan dosis 75% berbeda nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis, dengan hasil terbaik pada parameter tinggi tanaman umur 10 MST 187,63 cm, jumlah daun umur 10 MST 11,79 helai, diameter pangkal batang umur 10 MST 2,17 cm, jumlah tongkol pertanaman 1,31 tongkol, bobot tongkol berkelobot 363,86 g, bobot tongkol tanpa kelobot 279,14 g, dan daya hasil 9.275,34 kg/ha. Jenis pupuk hayati Sinarbio berbeda nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis, dengan hasil terbaik pada parameter tinggi tanaman umur 10 MST 181,31 cm, jumlah daun umur 10 MST 11,64 helai, diameter pangkal batang umur 10 MST 2,07 cm, jumlah tongkol pertanaman 1,31 tongkol, jumlah tongkol perpetak 18,00 tongkol, bobot tongkol berkelobot 358,58 g, bobot tongkol tanpa kelobot 273,22 g, dan daya hasil 9.330,02 kg/ha. Terdapat interaksi antara dosis pupuk anorganik tunggal N,P,K dan jenis pupuk hayati terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman jagung manis pada diameter pangkal batang pada umur 6 MST. Pemberian dosis pupuk anorganik tunggal N,P,K 75% dan pupuk hayati jenis Sinarbio memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis.
