Abstract

This research develops an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart classroom system which capable of digital attendance input processes that stored in a connected database server to assist in the digitization and verification of attendance data for both lecturers and students. This system is built by combining the NodeMCU and Arduino Nano microcontrollers, which are connected to an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) scanner as the means of user identification verification. The IoT-based smart classroom system has been tested for its effectiveness using black-box testing methods to determine system responsiveness and response time speed, as well as stress testing to assess the server's ability to process user attendance data. The results of black-box testing yielded system responses that meet the requirements, with an average response time of 1,79 seconds in processing attendance data. The system can accommodate at least 150 users with an error rate of 7,33% in a user identification process and attendance data entry process into the database via a web server. In conclusion, this smart classroom system can aid in the attendance data collection and verification process for both lecturers and students.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini merancang sebuah sistem cerdas ruang kelas yang berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yang dapat melakukan proses pemasukan presensi digital yang disimpan dalam basis data yang terkoneksi dengan server guna membantu dalam digitalisasi dan verifikasi data presensi untuk pengguna dosen dan mahasiswa. Sistem ini dibuat dengan memadukan microcontroller NodeMCU dan Arduino Nano yang dihubungkan dengan pemindai RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) sebagai media verifikasi identifikasi pengguna. Sistem cerdas ruang kelas berbasis IoT ini telah diuji efektivitasnya dengan pengujian menggunakan metode black box guna mengetahui respons sistem dan kecepatan response time, serta stress testing guna mengetahui kemampuan server dalam proses data presensi pengguna. Hasil pengujian dengan metode black box menghasilkan respons sistem yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan kecepatan response time rata-rata dalam proses data presensi sebesar 1,79 sekon per pengguna, serta mampu menampung maksimum 150 pengguna dengan error rate sebesar 7,33% dalam sekali proses identifikasi pengguna dan pemasukan data presensi ke basis data melalui web server. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem cerdas ruang kelas ini dapat membantu proses pendataan dan verifikasi presensi dosen dan mahasiswa.
