Abstract

Social skills are basic skills that must be possessed by every student to be able to live adaptively in the era og the industrial revolution 4.0 which is an era of technological development. The sophistication of this technology, such as online games, can make students not want to play and become antisocial behavior. Therefore, the teacher must understand his role in choosing learning that is in accordance with the characteristics of students, especially low-grade students who still like to play while choosing learning that can develop students social skills. This study aims to describe the teachers role in planning and implementing game-based cooperative learning, the condition of students social skills in learning activities, and the teachers challenges in developing students social skills through game-based cooperative learning. This reaserch uses a descriptive qualitative approach with descriptive methodes. The result of this study indicate that the teacher’s role as planner, facilitator, class manager, demonstrator, mediator, and evalator has beeb seen in choosing and providing learning that is in accordance with the characteristics of students, namely game-based cooperative learning that is oriented towards developing students social skills. So that the condition of students social skills with indicators of working together, self-control, interacting, and daring to argue and exchange ideas can be seen in learning activities. In addition, the teachers role has also been able to lead the teacher to overcome the challenges faced in developing students social skills, especially challenges related to the background of students which are able to be overcome through game-based cooperative learning

Additional Information: Keterampilan sosial merupakan keterampilan dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap peserta didik untuk dapat hidup secara adaptif di era revolusi industri 4.0 yang merupakan era perkembangan teknologi. Kecanggihan teknologi seperti adanya games online dapat menjadikan peserta didik tidak ingin bermain dan menjadi antisocial behaviour. Oleh karena itu, guru harus memahami perannya untuk memilih pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karaktersitik peserta didik, khususnya peserta didik kelas rendah yang masih senang bermain sekaligus memilih pembelajaran yang dapat mengembangkan keterampilan sosial peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis permainan, kondisi keterampilan sosial peserta didik dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, serta tantangan guru dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial peserta didik melalui pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis permainan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peran guru sebagai perencana, fasilitator, pengelola kelas, demonstrator, mediator, dan evaluator sudah terlihat dalam memilih dan menyediakan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik yaitu pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis permainan yang berorientasi pada pengembangan keterampilan sosial peserta didik. Sehingga kondisi keterampilan sosial peserta didik dengan indikator bekerja sama, mengontrol diri, berinteraksi, dan berani berpendapat serta bertukar pikiran dapat terlihat dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Selain itu, peran guru juga telah mampu mengantarkan guru untuk mengatasi tantangan-tantangan yang dihadapi dalam pengembangan keterampilan sosial peserta didik khususnya tantangan yang berkaitan dengan latar belakang peserta didik yang mampu diatasi melalui pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis permainan
