Abstract

In this study, the focus of the author is to look at the acceptance of the existence of the Avalokitesvara Monastery in the Old Banten area from various parties, both from the government and the community. The purpose of this research is to look at attitudes, interactions, culture, policies, and other things that happen between actors. The author finds interesting relationships and interactions between monasteries and the community, monasteries and the government and life between citizens which occur organically and live with good acceptance. In this study, the authors used a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The results of this study is the occurrence of interaction and recognition from all citizens of the existence of monasteries that live in the midst of society, both from the surrounding community, the government, and the general public. And this monastery is included in one part of the tourist attraction in the Old Banten Region. Based on the results of the research that the author has done, the government should collaborate well and have the same goal by making policies and programs that empower the community.

Additional Information:	Dalam penelitian ini, fokus penulis adalah melihat penerimaan atas keberadaan Vihara Avalokitesvara di Kawasan Banten Lama dari berbagai pihak, baik dari pemerintah maupun masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu melihat sikap, interaksi, kebudayaan, kebijakan, serta hal lain yang terjadi antar aktor. Penulis menemukan adanya hubungan dan interaksi yang menarik antar vihara dengan masyarakat, vihara dengan pemerintah dan kehidupan antar warganegara yang mana terjadi secara organik dan hidup dengan penerimaan yang baik. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terjadinya interaksi dan rekognisi dari semua warga negara terhadap keberadaan vihara yang hidup di tengah masyarakat, baik dari masyarakat sekitar, pemerintah, maupun masyarakat umum. Dan vihara ini termasuk ke dalam salah satu bagian dari objek wisata Kawasan Banten Lama. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang penulis lakukan, maka sudah seharusnya pemerintah berkolaborasi dengan baik dan memiliki arah tujuan yang sama dengan membuat kebijakan dan program yang memberdayakan masyarakat.
