Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding TEOS to the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles as a potential application of Ferro Lubricat. The TEOS variations used in this study were 1ml, 2ml, and 3ml and then the XRD, SEM�EDX, TEM-SAED, VSM, and Zeta Potential characterizations were carried out. XRD analysis showed that the Fe3O4@3ml TEOS sample had a very good crystal size, SEM-EDX analysis showed that the sample had an almost spherical and uniform size. TEM-SAED analysis showed that the Fe3O4@2 ml TEOS sample obtained an average magnetic nanoparticle size of 2.7 ± 1.4 nm. Then the VSM analysis on the Fe3O4@2 ml TEOS sample obtained a saturation value of 46.75 nm. And the Potential Zeta analysis found that the Fe3O4@2 ml TEOS sample had a zeta potential value of -43.7mV. Therefore it can be concluded that Fe3O4@2 ml TEOS has the potential to be applied as a Ferro Lubricant. Keywords: Fe3O4, TEOS, Ferro Lubricant

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan TEOS pada permukaan partikel nano Fe3O4 sebagai potensi aplikasi Ferro Lubricat. Variasi TEOS yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 1ml, 2ml, dan 3ml kemudian dilakukan karakterisasi XRD, SEM-EDX, TEM-SAED, VSM, dan Zeta Potential. Analisis XRD menunjukkan sampel TEOS Fe3O4@3ml memiliki ukuran kristal yang sangat baik, analisis SEM-EDX menunjukkan sampel memiliki ukuran hampir bulat dan seragam. Analisis TEM-SAED menunjukkan bahwa sampel TEOS Fe3O4@2 ml diperoleh ukuran nanopartikel magnetik rata�rata 2,7 ± 1,4 nm. Kemudian analisis VSM pada sampel TEOS Fe3O4@2 ml diperoleh nilai saturasi sebesar 46,75 nm. Dan analisis Zeta Potensial menemukan bahwa sampel TEOS Fe3O4@2 ml memiliki nilai potensial zeta sebesar -43,7mV. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa Fe3O4@2 ml TEOS berpotensi untuk diaplikasikan sebagai Ferro Lubricant.
