Abstract

The low level of students' critical thinking skills makes students have difficulty understanding science concepts. The application of an interactive learning model can be a solution to this problem. This research aims to analyze the effect of the Generative learning learning model on the critical thinking ability of 7 th graders students in Environmental Conservation Materials. The research method used is the Quasy Experiment method which was carried out in class VII SMP Mutiara Insani Tangerang. Students' critical thinking skills are measured by a written test instrument in the form of essay questions made according to indicators of critical thinking skills that have been adjusted as many as 10 questions that have been tested for validity and reliability. The selected experimental class comes from a population that is normally distributed, has a homogeneous variance and has the same mean. Based on the research results, the experimental class with the Generative Learning model and the kontrol class with the Discovery Learning model are both normally distributed. Hypothesis testing is done by t-test and the significance level is based on the results of the Posttest and there is a significant influence on the Generative Learning learning model on the critical thinking skills of class VII students. From the calculation results, it is obtained that the rCount Sig (2-tailed) value is 0.006 < rTabel, namely Sig 0.05, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is Rejected. Then there is the effect of the Generative Learning Learning Model on the Critical Thinking Ability of 7 th graders Students in Environmental Conservation material.

Additional Information: Rendahnya tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sehingga siswa kesulitan dalam memahami konsep IPA menjadi masalah utama yang kini dihadapi. Penerapan model pembelajaran yang interaktif bisa menjadi solusi dari permasalahan ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Generative learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII pada Materi Pelestarian Lingkungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Quasy Experiment yang dilakukan pada kelas VII SMP Mutiara Insani Tangerang. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa diukur dengan instrument tes tertulis berbentuk soal uraian yang dibuat sesuai indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis yang telah disesuaikan sebanyak 10 soal yang telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Kelas eksperimen yang dipilih berasal dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal, memiliki varians homogen dan mempunyai kesamaan rata-rata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kelas eksperimen dengan model Generative Learning dan kelas kontrol dengan model Discovery Learning keduanya berdistribusi normal. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji-t dan taraf signifikansi berdasarkan hasil Posttest dan terdapat pengaruh yang siginifikan pada model pembelajaran Generative Learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII. Dari hasil perhitungannya diperoleh hasil nilai rHitung Sig (2- tailed) yaitu 0,006 < rTabel yaitu Sig 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima dan H0 Ditolak. Maka terdapat pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Generative Learning Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Kelas VII pada materi Pelestarian Lingkungan
